We stayed here on a motoring tour through France for one night and found B&B entirely satisfactory. The reception was very friendly and helpful (we needed help to get on to the WiFi), the room and bathroom were clean, the bedding likewise clean, and the bed was comfortable. The room is well soundproofed and we got a good night's sleep. The breakfast was amply sufficient with a very good variety of cereals, teas, coffees, breads, yoghurts etc., and much better than some breakfasts we suffered at twice the price!
We thought the room a little bit cramped, especially if you were to stay for more than one night, but my wife can not (will not!) travel light!
B&B is on the edge of town, very close to principal roads, and about five minutes drive into town, and there are at least two restaurants almost next door, so the location is very good.
Prices are very reasonable and on one occasion we booked ahead through booking.com and got a 10 percent discount.
We liked it and were encouraged to stay at B&Bs wherever available.

I could never recommend this hotel. Our experience was dreadful.
When we’ve arrived to the hotel the first night, the bedroom hadn’t been cleaned. As there was no receptionist at the time of our arrival, we had to pay another room. Fortunately, we got reimbursed the next day.
But that’s not the biggest problem we experienced. After two nights spent in the hotel, I started to scratch myself and discovered numerous red marks on my right arm, both hands, back and my legs.
I realised only at home by searching on the internet that I’d been bitten by bed-bugs. I went to a doctor who confirmed it and found that I was allergic to it as I had terrible red and extremely itchy red blisters.
The worst thing was to realise that we unknowingly brought them home in our bags. We’ve have been cleaning our apartment for more than a week now, buying expensive products to get rid of these awful beasts.

I’ve written three times to the hotel but I got no reply at all. They are completely ignoring my urging. I usually don’t complain but this needs to be reported. Even more, the hotel’s behaviour is unacceptable.

The hotel is well located just off the autoroute, the staff in reception were helpful considering my limited French language skills. The room was comfortable and the free wifi was appreciated. The room decor did show signs of age. Also I noticed a number of hairs, on the bathroom floor from previous occupents. The sink and toilet were perfectly clean, as were the bed linen and towels. Aircon is available in the room, along with a TV.

It's mentioned on the website that microwaveable meals are available from vending machines in the reception area, however this did not appear to be the case. I saw no microwave. Chocolate bars and hot drinks were available to buy. The hotel is situted less than a minutes walk from a McDonalds and a KFC (plus another French restaurant I've never tried), so ideal for a convenient evening meal or breakfast the next morning. Breakfast is offered in the hotel for an additional fee however I didn't choose to try it (I like McDonalds breakfast pancakes). There is also an Aldi supermarket next to the various fast food places, ideal if you need to stock up on anything for a longer journey.

We stopped off in Chartres while driving through France and stayed at B&B Chartres 1 (with our dog) on the way home. The manager greeted us on arrival and was very friendly - making a fuss of the dog and generally making us feel welcome, specfically giving us a ground-floor room because of the dog, putting up with our awful French, etc. The room was 'compact' but clean, with a nice double bed, free wi-fi and was perfectly suitable for a one night stop-over. The only negative I have is really the location - while very convenient if driving through France, you are essentially located in an industrial estate on the edge of town with other budget B&Bs and restaurants (McDonalds, KFC) so a little bit run-down compared to the centre of Chartres and it's glorious cathedral (although that said hotels in the centre of town were significantly more expensive and didn't allow dogs to stay) ... Breakfast was simple/unfussy (cooked buffet, cereals, croissants, yoghurts, fruit, etc.) but was all you can eat, so at around €5 per person, wasn't a bad way to fuel up before another day's worth of driving!! ;)

This hotel does everything it says on the tin EXCEPT despite the wonderful pictures of scrambled egg and bacon found in our room advertising breakfast we were only supplied with croissants and bread. How disappointing.

We stayed here in early August 2012 for one night on the way south through France. We've stayed in a few different hotels in this chain and this one was typical of the chain. It was clean, more than adequate for one night. The breakfast was good, though don't expect the best china. The breakfast area is small - when we arrived it was almost full so we took two tables for two, though it did clear shortly after.

We had a family room for four - this is getting to be a challenge now that the children are teenagers, though we managed for one night. These rooms have a double bed on the main floor and a mezzanine with twin beds. The bathroom is small but adequate. There are no tea / coffee facilities in the room, but we have become wise to this and usually take a small travel kettle in the car. There is a vending machine in reception where you could get a hot drink.

In summary, it is not the Ritz, but for the money it was a good deal.

Would certainly recommend this even for a weekend, great for overnight. Reception was friendly and helpful. It was a rainy gloomy day, so we felt quite cheered upon arrival as everything was better than expected. The room was a good size for this type of hotel. The linen was clean and crisp. the bed was also better than usual for a b&b hotel. The only thing we did not like was the shower curtain. This one was clean, so if they change it regularly, then i suppose it is okay. however, shower curtains get dirty and smelly quickly, so hopefully they will fit in a door as other b&b hotels have done. So much more hygienic and comfortable. But again, a minor thing if they change the curtain before it gets dingy. We did not have breakfast because we slept in [yes, good bed] which was a pity because breakfast looked good. If we were not expected elsewhere for lunch, we would most definitely have tried it. In the lobby a vending machine for hot and cold drinks and a microwave - so one could even warm up take-away food if so inclined. A choice of restaurants in the area. We had dinner at the Hippo restaurant across the way. The food was average, service there was good. Will definitely go back when visiting Chartres for a longer time.
