We visited Karijini Eco Retreat for 3 nights. The road in is pretty rough unless you have a four wheel drive. Check the condition of it before you travel there as we found it fairly hard going in what was described as "good conditions". The roads to the various gorges are worse but the gorges are well worth the effort and the bone jarring ride. The Retreat is well set up. The tents are very comfortable albeit flap noisily when the wind is up during the night. We had a King sized bed and warm bed covers which we needed as the nights were cold. The indoor outdoor ensuite is fine but remember to have a shower when the sun is out otherwise it's a chilly experience. We were surprised that the tents and bathrooms weren't cleaned or re-provisioned during our three night stay given the cost of the accommodation. The major disappointment during our stay was the restaurant. It's not cheap and the food was pretty hit and miss. On the first night I had pork spare ribs. They were cold and bland. My husband ordered kangaroo which was tough. The continental breakfast could be a great deal more inventive and of a greater variety. Fortunately our 12 volt car fridge was plugged into the tent power point so for the remaining two nights we catered for ourselves. As the location is so good it is worth staying particularly if you are self sufficient.
