“Nice "Camping" Experience”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 via mobile

This place is probably the best place to stay in jinka on the way to Mago and Mursi.
The place itself is beutiful and charming with a main building of restaurant and tents lying on platforms around it with a forest around.
The generator works until 22:30 and when we stayed there were no water in the shower and the toilet, that are very tiny and not so comfortable.
The food was good and they have selection of food for vegetarian, the service both in the reception and the restaurant was great and they made a real affort that we will feel comfortable.
If possible ask for a room near the reception and dining room, we stayed in a remote room and we were the only one at the lodge and it wasn't felt comfortable at that time.
Take in consider that there aren't family rooms and there is a little distance between the tents.
But overall nice and charming place with great service.

I loved the small tents of this great hotel. Tent has everything you need for a comfortable stay, but with no luxury. When hotel is full there is a buffet for dinner with very good options. A la carte options is always available. The deck, outside the restaurant is a very pleasant place for a drink before dinner. Hot water is available during some hours in the day what is absolutely manageable. We need to pump the water tap for getting water in the shower, so be fast! Considering the surrounding area, no doubts - this is an excellent choice.

So if we are grading this place based on a curve then it was very good. It all depends on what the last place you stayed in was like and if you are taking into account that Ethiopia is not Tanzania, Namibia or even Uganda.
The tented rooms are clean and comfortable, our mosquito nets fit around the bed without any holes, and the setting is beautiful. The tents have bathrooms which are a bit rough around the edges but reasonably clean. Our hot water worked as advertised. No wifi while we were there.
The food was ok but limited and small portions. There is some noise during the night from some sort of dance club. If you are a very light sleeper this might be a problem but it wasn't for us.
For a night or two i think this is your best bet in Jinka and it's a decent stop.

It was fun to stay a night in a tent as a change from the usual cabin. As others have written, the hot water and tap system did not work well, so a cold wash had to suffice. The internet was not working the night we were there, but that can be a blessing. The Lodge overlooks the valley, so all the town noises were loudly evident in the morning, but that is part of the appeal. A morning stroll along the river was a highlight. Our evening meal and breakfast were delicious, esp the milk pudding for dessert. We had a tent with two single beds, and did not find a problem with the mossie nets as others have written. Overall a pleasant night's stay.

Really very good! The rooms are large tents on platforms, spacious and pleasant, with comfortable beds with excellent mosquito nets and good reading lights. The bathroom needed a little attention (loo seat not fixed on, toilet leaking a little), but overall pretty good, especially considering the other options in Jinka. WiFi and hot water are available only at certain times, but they are the times when you need them.
The food is excellent by local standards, and the service both in the reception and the restaurant courteous and efficient. The location is a little out of town, which is a good thing, and the restaurant terrace has a lovely view. We were there during Lent, and the rabid religiosi made a lot of racket in a nearby field, but the hotel supplies ear plugs.

The Eco-Omo Lodge was a very pleasant surprise. The lodge is in a beautiful, relaxing setting by a river. The grounds are immaculate and the staff were helpful in every way. All the tents are on sturdy wood platforms with comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms (an unexpected luxury). The owners are a lovely couple; Frederico is Italian and Tamara is Ethiopian & Italian. After we arrived, we headed to the dining room for prosciutto panini sandwiches. What a treat in the Omo Valley! We happen to be there on my birthday in November. Tamara actually made a birthday cake for me; no easy task in that area. Thank you Eco-Omo Lodge for a birthday I will always remember. I wish we had stayed longer!

We were afraid of this place because of the tents rooms. How ever it is built very good on floor high above the ground, very clean, enough light, moskitos nets which is very important as the lodge is located near a river. The restaurant is located in a nice point of view . Food was good but I am not so sure about the way the prepare it because some of us got sick.
