Arrived early and had a drink in the bar which was relaxed and not pretentious. Checked in at the restaurant and were seated in a lovely room overlooking gardens. Pleased to have a room with tables not too close to each other so felt spacious and relaxed. Our waiter was faultless not too full on and simpering but attentive and "on it". The food was well cooked, maybe a touch on the large side portion wise but probably what most people like. Beautifully presented but for me a touch more seasoning would have made the difference. I had Chilli Squid Taco to start which was delicious but the chilli kick did not happen and flavouring a bit bland. Again Hake main course with foam but the foam flavour just was not intense enough as the Hake took over the very subtle flavours of the foam. I think they are playing it safe flavour wise but they need to bring it on - get in there with the flavours please :) Hubbie had Sweet Potato Frittata which was a huge portion but very nice and Steak for main which was well cooked and a lovely woodsmoke flavour. Did not have desert as the portions were so big but a lovely relaxed atmosphere and would definitely go again.
