Alison and Steve are very welcoming, friendly, helpful and discreet, perfect hosts.

The Garden House is comfortable and modern accommodation finished to a very high standard; a great place to be for either a short or extended break. It is set in peaceful surroundings; and it can be tempting just to lounge around the pool and soak up the Vaucluse atmosphere.

A little more exertion is involved to tour the area looking at the hill-top villages, the old towns, the markets, the lavender farms and vineyards. For slightly more active exploration, walking in the Dentelles de Montmirail hills is lovely; and a local river walk (literally, in the river) is great fun. With Mont Ventoux on the doorstep, if you need to do more, there is mountain walking, mountain biking or road biking in the tyre tracks of le Tour (bike hire at Sault).

But whatever you do, start the day with a stroll to the bakers; and face the challenge of deciding which of a wide range of fine pastries to buy.

This lovely apartment (which used to be a B & B) is the perfect base for a trip to this gorgeous area of Provence. It combines a very comfortable kitchen/bedroom/bathroom/living area inside with a beautiful outdoor area with a pool and large grounds, plenty of seating and a well lit, private, shaded seating area under the trees. It's just a short walk into the charming town of Sablet, so it's easy to pick up your fresh croissants & baguettes for breakfast & lunch. There is also a good butcher in the town where you can buy great meat to barbeque by the pool, if you want to stay put & relax, which we did some days during the week we spent there. The gite is exceptionally well equipped & organised, very thoughtfully put together, comfortable, nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, with a double sink in the bathroom & great shower. There is even air conditioning in the bedroom, if needed. Excellent wifi. The area is lovely, with many charming villages nearby & everywhere you go, there is another great vineyard & excellent wines to try. Alison & Steve are perfect hosts, welcoming & friendly and also discrete. We would not hesitate to go there again & probably will! Very highly recommended; don't hesitate!

My wife and myself have been on many French holidays, but this was one of the best. The region was fantastic with many lovely things to see, rivers to canoe, hills to climb and towns to explore. This was all complimented by staying at La Saugie, which was an excellent base. The accommodation was superb, the breakfasts by the pool heavenly and the attention to detail by Alison and Steve second to none, they were perfect hosts. We will be back most likely with friends to stay in their nearby villa - thoroughly recommended

Great place to stay, we stayed August 2013 for 4 nights everything was 10 out of 10 from the rooms, to the pool & gardens to breakfast & the hosts! Wine tasting in nearby village was great, the wine from this area is excellent!
Everything was first class!! Will be happy to return!

We stayed in La Saugie in July 2013 for 2 nights at the start of our holiday in Sablet. Alison and Steve (and family) were perfect hosts, providing recommendations on where to visit and eat - even booking a table at one of their favourite restaurants for us, (which turned out to be our favourite too during our holiday!). Every morning we were greeted with a warm smile and a delicious, fresh breakfast whilst sitting by the pool in the sunshine.
Their B&B is simply stunning and was the perfect start to our holiday. We could of easily stayed for longer and were sad to leave. Thank you for your hospitality we will see you next year!
