“Nice food, but staff somewhat unattentive”
Reviewed 30 July 2012

We dined here on Friday evening and while the food was very tasty, we felt a little disappointed by the staff. The waiter (owner probably) was jolly, but we waited very long to have our table cleaned or brought extra water. We were with children, so the got bored too soon because of this. I am sure that if the diner lasted half an hour less we would have had a better impression. Having said that mustard ice cream with andouillette was amazing.

“A well hidden restaurant but worth the search....”
Reviewed 17 September 2011

I only knew of this restaurant from Tripadvisor and it still took a little effort to find. It looks like a vineyard even though there is a 'Les Genets' sign on the road outside! Eventually, despite the front door being locked & curtained, we managed to find the terrace around the back of the building. Other people were obviously more perceptive as it wasn't long before the large terrace was completely full - and this on a Thursday evening. We had a good meal for 28€ each and can certainly recommend it to others.

“Gordon Ramsey ...”
Reviewed 23 August 2011

would love this place: good, honest but also innovative food served in an eye catching way. Good sized portions, very tasty. Good value for money.
We arrived4 persons around 8 p.m. without having made a reservation and was shown to a table halfway down the terrasse which runs alongside the back of the house.By 9 p.m. the terrasse was full of mainly local people judging by the conversations and others had to get a table inside. If you get a table in the front part of the terrasse you will have a wonderful view of the landscape.
Perhaps they could work on the waiters´ interacting with (foreign) customers to make it an even better experience. Perhaps they need to learn from another excellent local restaurent: Les Abeilles

“Innovative, delicious meal”
Reviewed 22 July 2011

While staying in Sablet we went further afield for dinner but Les Genets, on our doorstep, was a great find - if we'd gone earlier in our week, we'd have booked another evening meal as well. The welcome was warm, as we were shown to our table in a fairly basic dining room. The food surprised us, though, with real thought and quality throughout the meal. There were little touches which elevated the level of each dish - the floral, herby macaron with the foie gras, the sorbet that tasted purely of grass - in a good way! - with the steak, the unusual desserts... the wine was very good as well, as you'd hope. They offered a range of wines from the region and we bought a few bottles of rose after dinner to take back with us to remind us of a delightful summer evening in Provence.
