Owner description: Pisces Dive Charter is an owner operated dive school and charter operating full-time in Sodwana Bay since 1994 but both Louis and Melanie have lived and dived in Sodwana Bay since the 1980’s. Due to the charter being owner managed and run (from picking you up in the beach parking area and running the beach operation to escorting you on your dives), professional service of highest quality is guaranteed with safety as our most important priority. Louis, Melanie and their team are passionate about the ocean and the area and our aim is that each client departs for home after a visit having learnt something new about our ocean and the wonders within it as well as a love for the area we operate in – where else in the world can you dive in the morning and see the Big 5 or view some amazing Lake systems in the afternoon? We cater for all levels of divers ranging from novices, dive schools, family groups, technical divers and photographers to the discerning casual diver. Our boat, IMPI is specially modified and offers superb comfort and space for technical and photographic groups. We offer full-time courses (NAUI/PADI), scuba-diving excursions for all levels and gear hire. Sodwana Bay is situated in Zululand, the place of the people of the heavens. Situated on the east coast of Southern Africa, it forms the northern portion of KwaZulu-Natal, one of the nine provinces of South Africa. This stretch of the African continent is a land of diversely exquisite beauty. Sodwana Bay is a mere hour’s drive away from the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, Thembe Elephant Park, Ndumo Game Reserve and Kosi Bay. The coastline stretches some three hundred and fifty kilometres from the mouth of the mighty Tugela River in the south to the Mozambique border in the north. The golden eastern shores are caressed by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and include endless unspoilt beaches and coastal conservation areas, and incorporate the largest estuarine system in Southern Africa. Sodwana Bay is incorporated in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, which is South Africa’s third largest park. The rich resource endowment of the IWP was recognized when the St Lucia Wetlands became South Africa’s first inscription on the World Heritage List. We offer: • Introductory Scuba Diving Courses • Full-time Scuba Diving Courses • Scuba Diving Charters for novice & experienced individuals and/or groups • Qualified Divemasters on each dive • Airfills & Gear hire • Boat based snorkel excursions or boat rides There is also a range of other activities available such as: • Deep-Sea Fishing Charters • Kite-Surfing • Microlight Flights • Quad Bike rides • Turtle Tours (In-season) • Whale-watching with the only registered operator (In-season) Pisces Diving offers a range of self-catering accommodation in and around Sodwana Bay ranging from tented accommodation in a well appointed camp to luxury accommodation.

“Relaxed and efficient - great diving!”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

Sodwana Bay is such a weird place. You only go there for the diving as there is nothing else going on. But the dives are worth the hassle - so do not get put off. The whole set up is odd - hard to grasp if you are trying to organise things online and if you are not aware of how things work in there. I learned that not many 'normal' international tourist go there - and I can understand why but I can assure you if you want good dives in South Africa, this is where you want to be. If you do go there, be sure to book your dives with Pisces - Mel and Louis are great and they will do their best to provide you with a great diving. The boat was never too overcrowded and the whole operation was very smooth. Good part of the divers were experienced and frequent divers with Pisces - this is a good indication. In two days we were lucky to dive the 9 mile, the 7 mile and the 2 mile reefs - the 7 mile was my favourite but all dives were very good. I just hope they continue being as efficient and relaxed as they - Thanks Mel and Louis!

“5 Star +”
Reviewed 4 January 2014 via mobile

My partner and i visited Sodwana for the first time late December 2013. Pisces Diving and Coral divers were recommended by the Alicia of Shayamoya Lodge. Looking back i am ecstatic that we chose Pisces Diving. We met Mell who is the driving force and the face of Pisces and she went put of her way to make our diving experience worth every penny! She and her team of DM's ( Pepe, Kevin, Angela and Louis ) were phenomenal ! Pisces may be one of the smaller diving operators but they are most definitely mighty in service, professionalism, safety and personal interaction. We arrived at Pisces as tourists and we left as family. If you don't want to be just another diver .. Pick up your phone and make contact with Mell. If you are interested in joining the diving family - you can make contact with Kevin ( kevin@scubaworld.co.za )

this was one of the best diving experiences I've ever had in sodwana. Louis finds everything underwater and Mel is amazing. Its completely relaxed - what time do you want to dive - as opposed to if you are not on the truck at 6h30 you are not diving but you are paying anyway. Finally a dive operation with flexibility and well oiled admin. They organised at the last minute a large cylinder for a heavy breathing beginner - changed dives as our plans changed and generally accomodated all our requests.
