“Get away from it all...”
Reviewed 20 April 2013 for a stay in October 2012

A group of my friends and I went here last October. The weather was lovely for that time of year, still shorts weather! We all work a lot so this was just ideal to get away from it all in the remote location of the south of France.

There are local villages within driving distance but we preferred to cycle using the bikes provided (took about 20 minutes each way). The villages are picturesque and very typical of what you expect of the area. Make sure to hit the markets when they arrive for some superb quality food, perfect to fry up on the outdoor barbecue.

The chateau itself looks amazing. The bedrooms are stunning and grand. The kitchen is full of everything you could ever need, we didn't have a cook in our group, but if you do they will be spoiled with this kitchen.

The week was exactly what we expected, lovely and quiet with plenty of chances to create our own fun. Our entire group was made up of people in their 20's, and we were never bored. We were treated to swimming in the heated pool, going out onto the river, reading (provided is a large selection of books), kicking some balls around on the front lawn, playing pool on the pool table and enjoying large meals together. Internet access is provided, and while the wi-fi doesn't reach all areas of the chateau, it is a holiday and I found very little time to miss the Internet. It was a shame to return home. We plan on coming again! If you want a quiet relaxing time with a large group of your friends, I couldn't recommend anywhere else.

“Do not be fooled by the apparent opulence of this chateau”
Reviewed 7 October 2012 for a stay in August 2012

We were excited at the prospect of an extended family holiday at this chateau. We were 3 generations, 19 in all, 4 of whom were children. The chateau was well-equipped in terms of kitchen equipment, bed linens & bicycles but the standard of cleanliness in common areas was poor. The local boulangerie could supply bread and croissants for a large party as long as it was ordered in advance, otherwise could be obtained a few minutes' drive away. Fishing licences were needed for individual guests. The great disappointment at this chateau was the very small unheated pool, so cold that the younger children could not play in the pool and there is no toddler pool that could be warmed by the sun. There is little else to occupy children so it was hard work keeping them entertained. Also, although the chateau caters for 19 people, there are only about 8 sun loungers and no room for more around the pool. The beds have very comfortable pillows & mattresses but are positively Napoleonic and not comfortable for those of our party around or over 6 feet tall!

The satisfaction of all my clients is of primary importance to me and I take all comments very seriously. I am therefore saddened to hear that you felt disappointed with your stay, especially as I have had such positive feedback from other members of your family. The swimming pool, which is heated, is 12m x 6m and we have never before been told that it isn’t big enough, but once again I am sorry you have felt in any way underwhelmed.
The chateau has a tree house, a Kayak, a boat, 15 bikes, a table tennis table, football goal posts, plenty of children’s and adult books, a full size pool table, board games and colouring equipment, bamboo forest, fishing on site, about 5 acres of garden to play in, satalite T.V, children’s and adult DVDs and free WIFI internet access for all of the family to enjoy, but I am sorry your children had little to occupy themselves with.
The Chateau was built in the 1800’s and we have tried very hard to furnish the house with as much antique furniture as possible to keep the character of this beautiful building. Whilst most of our guests have always appreciated the style and elegance of this period furniture we are sorry to hear that it was not to your taste.

“Peaceful and relaxing”
Reviewed 24 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

I would be very happy to give a strong recommendation to anyone considering renting the chateau. The location was wonderfully quiet and peaceful, but close enough to the shops to be convenient. The bedrooms were all equally beautiful and the kitchen was very well equipped for cooking for large groups. In general, the house had excellent facilities and we had a lot of fun going on a 14-man bike ride and taking the boats up the river on Sunday to look at the rowers. The chateau would obviously be a lovely place for a family holiday, but as a group aged between 22 and 27 it was the perfect place for a lovely catch-up, endless games of cricket, and glasses of wine on the patio.

“Perfect large family holiday”
Reviewed 23 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

It took some organisation to arrange our 2012 family holiday. It had been five years since our last outing, the family had grown and I was unsure initially who would want to commit so far in advance. This issue evaporated when I found the chateaux online and emailed to the potential group some pictures and the list of facilities the property had. Almost immediately we were booked up and looking forward to experiencing life in a real chateaux!. The property was very accessible for those that drove, flew and trained from the UK and further afield. Upon arrival the chateaux lived up to its beauty in the pictures and felt even larger with the communal areas very generous and quality of accommodation high. Being the family table tennis champion I was very pleased that the equipment lived up to expectation and even more so when our group in the family 'come dine with me' competition opted to use the very high quality and substantial BBQ and piella dish in the pool house area. Swimming in the sur lot was very pleasant and experiencing two local evening markets was excellent fun and pleasing on the pallet with the fine wine, snails and the most amazing steaks from the butcher. Utilising the array of mountain bikes included in the hire and stored onsite we were very well received in near by castle le Moran even though we cycled in some interesting attire (manikins and French maid outfits)! Normally one week is enough for me, especially within a large family group, however I can safely say the we needed another week to enjoy the amazing property, local surroundings and to continue experiencing the emmence fun we had. Thank you so much for making our stay truly special and having Kim on hand to answer any of our questions replenish gas for the cookers and give good tips on local activities. We hope to be back in the future!

I am very pleased to hear that you and your family had a lovely stay at the Chateau. I think that the locals must still be recovering after seeing such a large group of English people in French Maid outfits! We very much hope that you and the family will return again.

“Amazing Chateau, even bigger than in the pictures on the web site.”
Reviewed 2 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

The Chateau was amazing. Everyone in the party had such a great time. Having the river there was such a bonus for the fishermen in the party, and having the boats there too, made it great for all to row up and down the river, and even swim in it! The bedrooms were huge, so much room for everyone. The outsdie entertainment area, was lovely for very long lunches through to very late evening meals. There was so much choice for everyone from the swimming pool, playing pool, table tennis, riding out on the many bikes that came with the property and also just chilling out with great friends. The chateau was so clean and you just couldn't want for anything. Even having a lovely meal cooked by their wonderful chef.
Would so recomend this to anyone.
