“friendly 'local'”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

This is a 'local' type pub/bar.
The staff are really friendly as are most of the locals who are mainly ex pats. So its comforting to arrive in a place that remembers you are you are accepted as a regular-despite the amount of time spent there!
We had a Sunday lunch that was really good, the food is well cooked and presented, mainly english pub grub.
The local bowls club use this place as a host venue and there are often white attired bowlers around, sharing the sunshine and hospitality.
We will certainly be spending time here again as a family when we return in the summer.
They accept everyone here, my daughter is in a wheelchair and they all made a fuss of her, and the access is really good, as is the wc!

“Mainly Sports Bar”
Reviewed 23 February 2014 via mobile

I have been visiting Cheers bar for the last 3 or 4 years when I go out to visit my family and friends. Usually in October and November for 4 to 6 weeks.
Firstly the staff are excellent, that's Rod, Sue, martin, Dawn, Sol, Scot. Plus all the kitchen staff. Oh and sorry Pete.
You're always made very welcome and they have a number of tv screens showing different matches etc. It's a large bar with a very large terrace. And attached is the san miguel bowling green and club.

They have different things happening during the week. Like auctions, markets, clothes markets, they even have a fruit and veg stall on the terrace 3 days a week, run by someone else though.

I would agree that the people can be a bit clicky, but that's mainly from November to march. Then the tourist season starts again and it becomes your regular holiday bar with good food and good company.

You'll always have a good welcome at this family run bar.

Preferable to eat on the terrace as opposed to indoors. Food okay, general cuisine and everyday pub food. Lots of regular customers there - a bit 'clicky.' However, for a quick meal overlooking the bowling green, it served its purpose. Probably wouldn't go back as nothing particularly inspired us in terms of food or service but no complaints on the whole.
