We have just had our daughter's wedding at Lisle Combe and it was superb.
Ruth and Rob were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. They truly go the extra mile to accommodate your needs .
We can recommend Lisle Combe without reservation.
Our wedding guests stayed for a couple of nights and all enjoyed the rooms , which were spotless and the decor.
To top it all the location and the beautiful house made it the perfect wedding venue.

Had a fabulous stay here last week. Weather was amazing and the location at Lisle Combe was ideal for what we needed. The property was very grand and the gardens amazing. The breakfast was great too - I am sure we will be back.

Lisle Combe is an English country house on the Undercliff near Ventnor .We stayed in this royal b&b for a night. We were travelling to this place from london by local transport. we got down at boots bus stop but could not figure out how to reach this place. We called our host Ruth and she was so kind enough to come and pick us from the bus stop. As we didn't had our own car every time Ruth dropped and picked us from the nearest Bus stand. We were offered a much needed cup of tea which was served properly in a teapot and cups and saucers .bedroom was a good size with views to the sea, we have a very large bathroom and it was great to unwind with a hot bath after a day exploring the island. Our room had everything needed including kettle with coffee, hot chocolate and good selection of teas and yummy biscuits. The area is extremely peaceful . Ruth asked us what we will have for breakfast as we are vegetarians. Breakfast was wonderful with grilled potatoes baked beans , baked mushrooms, toast, butter, jam ,milk and cereals of different variety. Ruth is excellent and very helping host. The house is in a very private location and sits on out 10 acres with access but you will enjoy more if you have your private conveyance else it is little difficult to move from this place
Thank you Ruth for a lovely stay

I stayed here for a wedding held onsite which was just lovely and very photogenic with the mellow stone, quirky architecture and wonderful carved barge boards and barley sugar chimney stacks.
Our room was superb, very large, with stunning views of the garden and the sea beyond.
IN our room and throughout there is a wonderful collection of antique and vintage books & works of art and something interesting to see at every turn. The grounds extend a long way and there is a wooden staircase down to the beach.

Ruth, the owner is very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The house has a gentle ambience and feels like a home where people have been content over the years.

I would love to return.

This isn't a power shower, all mod cons-type destination -but if you like quiet, antiques, homely accommodation, cake! and history (home of the poet Alfred Noyes, and still in his family) -then this is the place for you.

Thank you Ruth for a lovely stay -was sorry to leave!

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the blue tiled fireplace!

What lovely comments, you have summed up what we are trying to achieve here, at Lisle Combe. Definitely no power showers!! But we do have plenty of peace and quiet, ambience and antiques!

we attended a wedding here, the hosts were so genial, on arrival a little frazzled I silently wished for a cup of tea and a slice of cake and guess what?..there it was in lovely crockery on the stunning terrace with the enchanting gardens to explore. Our host magically appeared with everything we forgot and disappeared again, our room was so comfortable I didn't want to leave it, the paintings and history is really special, the ceremony in a grand room seated about 30 I think and straight afterwards champagne was served. We had some wonderful buffet food, not a fried thing in sight finishing with strawberries and cream and a recording of 'the highwayman' spoke by the actual author, it really is a special place.

Glad that you enjoyed the day and your stay at Lisle Combe. It's great to hear the recording of Alfred Noyes in his own home!
