This restaurant is good if you want to eat yourself full till you keel over.
Wide selection of food and dessert. The biggest I have seen so far.
Not too healthy though. Some of it does not really taste but it is good if you are around.
Even if you are picky, you will find something to eat.

Visited yesterday lunchtime. Not impressed with having to pay for meal before being seated lots of staff hovering about which makes you feeling uncomfortable while eating. Food very greasy and either tasteless or very hot with extra chilly. Leaves an oily after taste in your mouth. There was not much salad or dessert available as it was lunchtime apparently it's better in the evening. Not sure I would agree.

I visited the Wood Green branch with my partner and mother for an evening meal on a Thursday during half term. It was our first visit and I was almost put off by reading some of the negative reviews. Luckily, we decided to give it a try and make up our own minds.
We were greeted on arrival and asked to pay prior to being seated, unusual set up, but I imagine they have their reasons for doing this. We were directed to our table by a member of staff and as it's a buffet, we were left to our own devices.
It was fairly busy but it did not feel overcrowded due to the large seating area. There were lots of food dishes to choose from, all the ones i tried were tasty, well cooked and varied, a couple were lukewarm but the meats and fish were well cooked. Drinks had to be bought from the bar and were reasonably priced. Plates were cleared from the table quickly and discreetly by staff, who were not overly friendly but done their jobs efficiently. We enjoyed our meal and our experience of this restaurant was as we would expect from an all you can eat buffet. Would probably go back and would recommend if you like this sort of thing!

Although we are frequent visitors to Global Buffet Southampton, this was the first time the eight of us, including 2 little girls, went to Wood Green for lunch on Sunday, the Chinese New Year weekend. We found the food piping hot, tasty and well presented. There was a good variety although mainly limited to Chinese and Indian. It seemed certainly a very popular place as there was a well formed queue of customers at the door entrance, all waiting patiently, by the time we finished to leave.

Wood Green is full of Kebab shops or pretend a italian restaurant so it is good to get something different. We booked a table for 4 at 7pm and although 5 minutes late were allowed in and allocated seating withing 5 minutes. Another characteristic of Wood Green is that payment is before the meal which was also the case in JRC. Something about people running away without paying...

We sat down in a quiet section that felt secluded which was great as I was hoping to catch up with family. The general atmosphere was pleasant with good lighting and a pleasant atmosphere that makes it a comfortable place for a meal.

The food is spread between 4 counters. One for deserts which included a chocolate fountain, a delicious eaton mess, ice cream, cakes and fruits. One was for the standard chips and fried meats and fish that are for those with an appetite for less healthy foods. The last includes indian, Chinese and thai dishes such as curries, stir fried vegetables and meats. All were well cooked though there are exceptions as always when it comes to seafood. The last was with chefs who grilled meats, fish and vegetables. These were very nice and I particularly enjoyed the lamb. Drinks had to be ordered separately and there was quite a queue and I would recommend more staff. It was a bit of a shame that there was no free coffee or tea but who knows how much of a mess this would have created.

The counters appeared clean and there were enough staff to maintain some semblance of order although there were some children who made quite a mess around their seats. I wish that parents would be more considerate of other diners and staff as it really reflects badly on them.

I would have given this place 4 but one of the chefs at the preparation counter (The younger) made a kissing face at my wife. This is very innapropriate and staff should be professional in their conduct.

All in all JRC is a welcome addition to the boring food culture in Wood green. Now all that is required is an authentic Italian on the high street.
