WE booked this as it is dog friendly, that is true, friendly and helpful staff, breakfast ok, but the place is tired and our room , nos 28 had massive damp in the bathroom. A car alarm went off at 0200hrs and there was no register of who owned it, this was right outside our window. The night porter tried hard to find it but the booking in system failed and he did not find the owne. With a small dog in a room, alarm going off, no sleep !!! Poor !!
The receptionist when I complained about the damp did offer to move us, I declined as the rest of the rooms did not look much better. Shame as the website photos make it look nice and refurbished. I asked what the deal was with the refurb ? Ongoing the answer was.
The staff are trying thier best with poor resources.
Would I recommend this place ?? No , whoever is refurbishing it may receive a visit from Dom Littlewood as they are shocking.
We only had a few days to visit in Glasgow and this was spoilt a touch by the poor standards of this Hotel.
So, be honest ! and charge accordingly !!
Jim, Tring

Room Tip: Go to the Garfield !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The place is a riot. Dirty filthy grimy.... do not stay here!!!!!!! Reception entrance smells damp and smoky. Our room hadnt been dusted. Dirty hairy bath and floor. Fingerprints all over brass on doors all down corridors. Rubbish on carpets in bar entrance and reception. Roof tiles all cracked and dirty. Carpets dirty. Disabled toilet manky. Bar prices way overpriced. Unhelpful unorganised staff. Reception desk was a mess.

The staff was incredibly friendly, the food surprisingly good, bar prices high and apart from its appalling situation right on a busy road the one thing that needs to be brought to the owners' attention is the condition of the rooms. My room had had either its lock replaced or whatever, but it was only held in with silicone seal and I could not lock the room from the inside which makes the single female traveller somewhat nervous. The table/desk looked bashed about as did some of the other furnishings.

Nothing against this hotel or staff they couldnt be nicer, but get your facts straight when it says 1.4 miles from Hampden NO try 14 miles spoiled our night as we had to leave the concert early to get back it took bus and train to get to the concert and back , as a taxi would have cost around 50 pound We couldnt believe it when we arrived , and realised that due to the web site lying about tha distance it ruined the event for us.
