My husband and I were looking to visit an olive grove, and was surprised to find Bracu restaurant on the Simunovich Olive Estate located in Bombay Auckland, NZ. I emailed Michael W the restaurant manager and informed him of our travel plans from the United States. He was able to arrange for a ride from the airport and had a table outside with a view of the olive trees waiting for us. My husband and I ordered the degustation and enjoyed a wonderful lunch. The staff was professional and described the dishes for us. Our driver was was from the area and shared history about the area and New Zealand. I highly recommend a trip to this restaurant . Don't forget to try the olive oil which is served with meal and enjoy the grounds.

We had heard good things about Bracu & had meant to try them out but distance from the city counted against them. We finally made the trip on the last weekend of autumn & had the degustation for lunch (it looked best value for money). It was a superb experience from starting with snacks & appetizers to finishing with passionfruit souffle. The food is inventive, using seasonal produce, but the cleverness is focussed on showing off the food. The courses were quite varied, all excellent, but my favourite was the groper cheek with paua, & peppered pork, a delightful harmonious dish.

The service was friendly & welcoming. We were seated at one of the outside tables on the verandah in the welcome sun (it was a cold day) but halfway through lunch it got too hot so they moved us to a more shaded table without fuss.

Bracu is not cheap but if you are going to make the trip there, take the opportunity to make the most of it and do the the degustation which is great value for money.

A wonderful experience awaits in the Bombay Hills ,South of Auckland City.
The arrangement of dining established within the olive estate makes this place a great visit for all.
The fine dining is to be recommended, the setting equally so.
There is shop to purchase the many products sourced from their own olives.
Well worthy of a nice luncheon at any time.

We went to Bracu for Brunch as advertised on their website. $20 for Brunch from 10am. When we were seated at 1pm the host gave us the lunch menu. We explained that we wanted the Brunch Menu as advertised. Brunch finished at 12 pm we were told. Not according to the website we said.
A great disappointment, especially for my sister-in-law from Dorset England. The staff.tried to be helpful but did say that not putting a finishing time on the Brunch Menu was an oversight on their part. Another disappointing outing at Bracu. Last time I had lunch there the meal was so tiny it wouldn't have been enough to feed my 5 yr old grand daughter . Needless to say we didn't stay for lunch.

A half hour or so outside of down town Auckland, this restaurant is quite delightful. In an olive grove (unfortunately it was evening and a cold one at that so we sat inside) beautifully appointed. In Europe this would be a Michelin starred restaurant.
The food was exciting with great mixes of colours and tastes and beautifully cooked and presented. Staff all friendly (who isn't in New Zealand?). Offering a variety of menus with something for everybody. A real discovery for us and we hade a great relaxed evneing. Great value for money. When next in NZ we will beat a track there at least once.
