“Lovely - the bonus was the daily viewing of a kingfisher fishing in the mill stream”
Reviewed 20 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Three generations stayed and found that The Moulin was comfortable and relaxing, the hammock in the garden was a treat. The family tried the Velo Rail at Confolens and found it very strenuous, luckily it wasn't hot that day! They loved the tree walk adventure park south of St Junien though, and had great fun getting wet boating at Confolens. Do look out for the kingfisher who seems to be a regular - watch the stream from half way down the garden.

“Beautiful house...perfect for families!”
Reviewed 8 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We had a fantastic time staying at this beautiful house. As soon as we arrived we felt instantly at home. The kids LOVED the pool and the huge garden. They couldn't quite believe they were allowed to swim all day! The grown ups loved relaxing in the glorious sunshine or reading in shady hammocks. The house certainly fufilled all our expectations, the rooms were just as lovely as they looked on the website, the kitchen was very well equipped, and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. This was the first time we had stayed at Moulin de Marousse and it certainly won't be the last. The area had some great days out too, my 5 year old train obsessed boy was most impressed with the Velo Rail [a pedal powered train!!!]. A wonderfully relaxing holiday for all.

“Amazing place”

This is simply the most amazing property inside & out.
The 4 girls loved the massive garden and had so much fun in the pool, plus walks through the nearby woods and discovering the wildlife, which helped all 4 parents have the most relaxing time ever.
We ate lunch and dinner outside under the vines every day, cooked great feasts every evening and drank our way through all the local wines.
Clare was a great help too, getting the replacement washing machine sorted so quickly.
I can't recommend this mill highly enough as a wonderful family place to stay.
We will be back.

“Quite simply Paradise.....”
Reviewed 13 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Forget staying in a holiday rental, this is a home, a beautiful, comfortable and welcoming home.
We have stayed in many rentals over the years and I can honestly say that none have felt as wonderful as this one. Large rooms, every home comfort (tv reception/mobile not brilliant) a very naughty, big great fun dog next door, and the river at the end of your private and beautifully kept garden - what more could you ask for?
The owners should be awarded a gold star- very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they almost felt like friends even before we travelled! Claire and her mum, gardener and cleaner, we're terrific- very chatty and accommodating. Oh, and not to forget the black woolly sheep in the prairie garden!
Too many good points to mention - just go and experience it for yourself (but not on the weeks we want to visit again)!

“Simply Divine”
Reviewed 26 April 2013 for a stay in April 2013

The most perfect weekend away with my girlfriends. The house is perfectly situated for gorgeous walks through the woods, albeit with glass of wine in hand, wellie boots (borrowed from the owner) and the beautiful sunshine!
What could be more perfect than a beautiful house with everything you could ever need from a cupboard full of games, good wine, wonderful friends and a comfy bed. It s a real home from home but without the daily stressful routines. Cannot recommend this property enough.

“Perfect peace and beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed 23 April 2013 for a stay in April 2013

I've stayed here three times over the past years - it's absolutely wonderful. It's not in a lively location other than a few picturesque sheep so it's perfect for a really relaxing break.

The garden is big so plenty of room for outdoor games on the lawn, lying around in hammocks or sitting under the vines playing cards. There's a also a pool in another separate area (and gated off for safety) so even outside there are lots of different vantage points and places to sit and admire the different views.

The house is beautifully furnished - very much a lovely home from home and nothing like a holiday rental. There are beautiful touches everywhere - chandeliers, lovely crockery, plenty of deckchairs and loungers. It's well stocked with interesting books and the wifi works well.

Excellent supermarkets are a few miles away and St Junien is a lovely small town nearby. But the main appeal of the Moulin has to be the peace, the wonderful views and walks and the decor. Highly recommended for a family or a group.
