“Can't wait to go back.”
Reviewed 26 January 2014

This is by far the best place that I have stayed in The Gambia and we will be staying here again in April. My children were enjoying the company of the friendly staff, who always had time and patience for them. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing yet close enough to the strip when you fancy something a bit livelier. Rooms are basic, but clean, not that we wanted to spend any time in them! The pool was lovely. 79 days till we're back and this will be the first time we've gone back to the same hotel!

I spent two weeks there in Dec/Jan 2014 and I can truely recommend the place. It's quiet, friendly and clean. The room was big enough, with wardrobe, huge bed, fridge and a cabinet. The bed sheets were clean, colourful, changed regularly. The bathroom was small but very clean, with fresh towels, tones of paper and a welcome soap:) The restaurant served tasty, fresh breakfast, everyday with plenty to choose from. There's free wi-fi around the place, sunbeds around the pool, tables to enjoy a nice evening talks. The biggest advantage is the stuff- always helpful, always smiling, always there for you! The beach is very close, it's really great and not crowdy at all:) The busy street with restaurants, local shops and craftmarket is easily reached by the taxis u can catch just in front of the hotel. In case u just need some water or extra food there are local shops both on the left and right sides of the hotel, in about 5 min walks. When u enter the beach, there is a local juice bar, which is run by a guy called David- try his baobab juices and u will always come back for more, he doesnt add water so ur stomach is safe and he also is a guide so in case of any sightseeing wishes he will be ur man! I checked and definately can recommend him for anything. Another attraction are the monkeys- they visit the hotel daily, searching for some peanuts and posing to photos:) there is the Monkey Park just outside the street, pay a visit there- there are well trained guides who help u to see and meet hundreds of natural habitants of the place.

We spent two nights here last week while touring Gambia and Senegal. Our room was small and sparse but very clean. The a/c was good and plenty of hot water in the shower. The restaurant was very good and the location was very quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel pool was great, the highlight of each afternoon when returning from touring.

I've stayed at the Baobab over 20 times, with family, friends and groups of students from UK and Holland. It is always my first choice. Small and friendly, it doesn't have the facilites of larger hotels, but this is more than made up for by the peaceful, friendly atmosphere where the staff do everything they can to ensure that you have a great time.

Local, cosy, top quality food, service and entertainment. Very helpfull and friendly staff. From many places in the Gambia I have been this one is really the best ever. It not fra from the beach, the strip and all other places to be, wich makes it ideal for people who appreciate some rest.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Baobab Holiday Resort. Our room (the cheapest type) was simple, but clean and comfortable, with a good bed and clean towels every day. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is very good. We also rented bicycles from the hotel (200 dalasis a day, which is cheaper than most rentals in the area). Baobab is a small-scale hotel, so all the guests get personal attention, and it is locally owned, so the money stays in the country.

Good clean place with swimming pool and very helpfull and kind staff. every day new towels and bedsheets
Location is aprox 3km from "the Senegambia strip". It's easy to stop a shared yelow taxi during day time and for 7 Dalasi you're in a few minutes at the strip. Coming back in the evening (after 2200hr) a private taxi will cost you between 50 and 100 dalasi. No need to take the expensive green taxis during daytime.).

Room Tip: First have a look at your room before you accept. If available it's no problem to change a preb...
