Mas du Naoc is just a gem of a place. It is a beautiful old, large French house with stunning, terraced gardens, a totally relaxing place to stay and a few minutes outside the lovely village of Cabris. (You can walk there, in theory, although we were always lazy and drove!).
We stayed in the Côté Sud room which, even when temperatures were in the mid thirties outside, remained cool inside. This is partly because it is a tad dark and not the largest room you will have, so if you want a light, airy room, look at one of the other rooms in the house! Nice enough bathroom. The room has its own "terrace" area where we had breakfast - and a great breakfast it is: pastries and cereal, eggs, youghurt, bread and more pastries...
The owner, Sandra, is very nice (and actually speaks quite good English if you want her to). We spent most of our mornings just reading and sitting round the pool, and Sandra always waited until after noon when we had gone out before cleaning the room.
I guess the only downside is that if the pound is weak against the euro, then it is not cheap. And as they ask for a one night deposit and don't take credit cards, then for us folk outside France, we had to send an electronic transfer which costs a few pounds here in the UK.
Would love to go back tomorrow if we could!
(In Cabris, there are some very nice restaurants, again you pay a bit with a weak pound, but for a slightly cheaper and very laid back option, try Le Flambeau - not haut cuisine but good enough food and a very nice place to watch the world go by in the evenings!)
