“Great family holiday”
Reviewed 31 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

La Piccada provided an ideal location for our 3 generation extended family trip - which included over 60s, teenage boys and under 5s. The pool was the focus of daily activity involving us all from serious swimming to horseplay . Really enjoyed the fact we could walk to the village in the morning for bread, pastries, goodies from the traiteur and in the evening for meals at the three restaurants particularly La Table des Baous.

It was a great base for hiking trips, and sorties to Cannes, Monaco , and to do jumping into pools near waterfalls. The teenage boys want to do another holiday just like it !

“Great villa with spectacular surroundings”
Reviewed 25 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We were a large group with altogether six young children staying for two weeks at the end of June/beginning of July - not yet too hot and dry. The villa is great, well equipped and really spacious. The outdoor area is excellent and the view spectacular. A perfect distance from the Nice airport, from lovely Provence villages and from a wide range of nice beaches. Great rock climbing just a few minutes` from the doorstep (!) and not the least really good running trails at and around the Baou.
The village of Saint Jeannet is lovely and just a short walk uphill - providing baguettes and croissants for breakfast and also a few really nice restaurants.
We would love to come back .

“Wonderful house, people and location!”
Reviewed 13 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

A great house with an even better outdoor-area! The pool is amazing, refreshing and always clean.
No matter where you look, the view is breathtaking, especially the mountain you see from the pool! This mountain is also great for a hike, where you will have a great view from the top.

The house itself is at a perfect location. You can really relax and "get a break" from loud noises, without actually being that far from town. Vence is a short trip from the house and the old town is lovely for perhaps eating dinner (the restaurant Les Lavandes is recomended)! Nice is also close, which is a beautiful city with great shopping-opportunities.

We have only positive things to say about La Picada! You will find it difficult to leave this place when your vacation ends :-)

“Value, space and comfort. We didn’t want to leave!”
Reviewed 25 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Thoroughly enjoyed our week in St Jeannet. Our group of two couples were extremely comfortable in the villa basically having an entire floor each to ourselves.
Indoor and outdoor cooking facilities are excellent, the kitchen was very well equipped and there was a decent outdoor undercover weber bbq and not one but two fridges. Sleep quality good. Ample parking for probably 4 cars off street behind gates. Decor is rustic French which is what you want when you are Aussies staying in France. Then there is the view - and what a view it is and from practically every room in the house - high up overlooking Antibes and Cagnes sur Mer on the Mediterranean. The icing on the cake is the pool - it is immaculately maintained and has an absolutely surreal view up to the Baou - which is the local mountain. The village of Saint Jeannet is lovely and just a short walk from the villa uphill - helping to burn of a few calories. In St Jeannet there are 3 or 4 restaurants, we visited La Table des Baous - unpretentious but with superb food, there is also a good bar with great views. We had friends over for dinner a couple of nights and the villa easily catered for 8 both indoor and outdoor. Our caretakers Ed and Alex (Ex-pat Brits) are a lovely couple and looked after our every need without being at all intrusive. You are close enough to the beach if you want to go for the day but my advice would be to explore surrounding villages like Vence, Tourettes sur Loup, St Paul de Vence, Gourdon just to name a few. Additionally you can do a number of walks including climbing the Baou (which our group of relatively fit 50 year olds did - what a view from up there) from your doorstep. Although not our cup of tea rock climbers and cyclists would find this place paradise.
All four of us we very sad to leave La Piccada.

“A great stay”
Reviewed 29 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We stayed at La Piccada for two weeks in April 2014. Hot and sunny enough to swim in the pool. Chilly enough to make a big fire in the evenings next to the long table where we would dine when the three babies were put to sleep. Six adults and a few kids had enough space. The standard is excellent as long as you accept to turn on the dish washer and cook by yourself, and make the 10 minutes walk up in the village in the mornings for fresh croissants!
The surroundings are perfect for smaller or long hikes in the mountains, for lazy sunbaths along the pool, for sipping a pastis at the village restaurants, or for trips, e.g. to nearby Vence or to the coast.
The managers living next door, Alex and Ed, do a great job making you feel at home, and to wish to return.

“Lovely Place, Lots of space !”
Reviewed 27 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We were five adults and three children, and had a wonderful trip. Alex and Ed are more than helpful, we didn't have enough time for all their suggestions ! The pool is great and there is plenty of shade to relax in also. The pool house with two grills and easy seating for 8 or more was perfect for finishing off a lazy day. The kitchen is easily big enough for catering for a full house and has everything you need and more. The bedrooms are big and airy and there's ample parking.

“Wonderful house in spectacular setting!”
Reviewed 29 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We rented this villa for our honeymoon and loved it. The caretakers were more than helpful and made sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. The fact that they are native English speakers was a big plus, especially since they knew the area well and were happy to help with recommendations. The villa itself is very comfortable, well-appointed and conveniently located with great views. St. Jeannet is a 10 minutes (uphill) stroll away, and amazing trails for hiking and running are just out the front door. Also, the area is surrounded by many spectacular roads for cycling.
