“Does the job if nothing available in the Hunter, or you want a cheaper option”
Reviewed 2 May 2011

We stayed here for one night over the Easter break, and found it to be one of the only places that didnt insist on a 2 night minimum. Rutherford is about 20 minutes drive from the Hunter, so is near enough to base yourself if you are visiting the wineries.

The room was a decent size, had a comfortable bed and the room we had (27) was well back from the road, which was good as it is a fairly noisy road. Everything worked fine, so did the job nicely - we have previously stayed over the road at Maitland City Motel, which was a lot noisier and had a shocking bed - definitely go for this option!

We stayed there on the weekend of the country and western, Staff were very friendly and helpful. A bus picked us up from right out front, to take us to the concert at the winery.
Rooms have internet and are very comfortable and spacious.
As an added bonus, we were able to sit by the pool with Troy Cassar-Daley playing his guitar and singing to us.
Would recommend to stay there.

If you choose to stay here , then be prepared to spend most of the nite listening to drunks
party all nite , and the owners do nothing , its a shame the service was with a smile at first , then changed quickly when you complain the noise at 2.30am

This place is well past its 'sell bye' date. Everything needs throwing out and being replaced. It is poor value for money. Breakfast which was inclusive, was basic with little choice. The receptionist had difficulty in marking the position of the Inn on the tourist map she gave us.

I was driving myself and my grandfather between family Christmas events and we chose to spend the night between here at the Old Maitland Inn. The folks working there were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us on arrival or at breakfast the next day.
The rooms are straightforward but comfortable and we both slept very well.
The location is convient and was a good place to stop, and also easy to head off to the Central Coast the next day.
Thanks for a good stay!

Having stayed in hotels on average of 3-4 a month in the last year I would rate this one as a favourite...It is clean and fairly quiet even though parking is just outside your door. It is close to the shops and a short drive to every where else..
It was great having 2 double beds as I was travelling with one of my kids (sport) and the extra few dollars spent on breakfast was worth it. Everything worked in the room.
and the staff were very helpful. Have just booked again

We stayed at this hotel for one night as we passed through on our Easter Holiday. Parking off street was great and right out the front of the the room. Room was nothing special but was fine for the one night, wouldn't really want to stay there any longer. Staff were friendly so no real complaints. Nothing to special though, we paid the cheapest price we could find on wotif. Wireless interent didn't work
