This is the first time we have stayed in Sainte Foy and we booked quite late in the season for New Year's Eve. When I read the reviews on tripadvisor, I kept thinking - yes but what's the catch? There is none. It is a great find. Super simple, savoyarde decoration and cosy. We were staying with our children and the family rooms are excellent. We ate dinner there which was super and Michel and Evelyne prepared something for the children especially. We will definitely be returning. Excellent.

Room Tip: You need to turn the towel rails on yourself! They are not automatic.

What fantastic hosts Michel and Evelyne are - from the moment we arrived to the time we left, nothing was too much trouble. Michel even made breakfast for us on our return to the UK at 05.00 am.
The chalet is stunning, recently renovated to a very high standard. The chalet is about 10-15 minutes free bus ride outside Saint-Foy station with the bus stop being just across the road.
Unfortunately, we only ate in the chalet one night because we normally like to eat out. Big mistake because the food was great, typically french and lots of it. Michel and Evelyne joined us around a very large table towards the end of the meal which made the whole evening very relaxing and enjoyable. Perfect hosts.
Fantastic Christmas week would certainly love to return again next year.

What a gem the adorable, beautifully renovated chalet was!
We stayed there only one night, yet the uniqueness and the location of the place made an lasting impression on us during our summery Alp tour. We had a suite for 4 persons, which was extremely convenient for two couple such as us. Rooms were spotless clean and very comfortable with quality bedding. Our hosts were perfect; friendly and welcoming and very flexible.
Yet we managed to see the place and the gorgeous landscapes only in summer time, I sincerely recommend it to anyone. I really hope I can return some day in the near future.

Room Tip: For us, two couples on a road trip, the suite was a perfect, budget-friendly, choice. The suite cons...

Michel and Evelyne were great hosts in their mountain chalet. They were extremely gracious and accomodating. We also arrived late, around midnight, and we warmly received by Michel who as always had a big smile on his face. The location is few kilometres above the village of Saint-Foy and is ideal for those who either want to ski in Saint-Foy, or who, as we did, want to sample a variety of resorts from La Rosiere to Val d'Isere to Les Arcs, all of which are 20-25 mins away from the place. We had dinner the first night, it was a great typical French home cooked meal with copius amounts of wine and good conversation with our fellow guests. The other two nights we dined out which was no problem with our hosts. Breakfast was typically French with croissants and coffee nicely presented given all the skiing it would have been great to have some protein like a yohurt or a boiled egg to last you untill lunchtime. All in all we enjoyed our stay and thought it was a great value.

The previous reports say it all and the pictures do not bely the beautifully restored building with stacks of interest. I will not spoil it for you by describing it in detail but strongly recommend you stay there. The food was homemade and excellant and the well presented and interesting house mirrored the hosts who were very helpful and friendly. We were there skiing but I could imagine a good time would be had in summer too. Why stay in an anonymous hotel or appartment when you could stay there and immerse yourself in a bit of france. We found it by chance at the last minute and we were glad we did. Michel and Evelyn were the perfect hosts.

Just spent one night here with my wife before going up to the ski station. We did not have a reservation and arrived rather late but were warmly welcomed by Evelyn and Michel. Despite being late Michel was still able (and willing) to prepare us a very tasty 4 course meal of fine local produce washed down by some good local wine. The common areas were very cozy with a roaring log fire at the centre. Our bedroom was large and recently renovated to a fine and comfortable standard, it even had a decent balcony, the toilet and shower were also modern clean and efficient. The bed was large and comfortable with quality linen and duvet. Breakfast was simple with local breads and jams but plentiful and tasty. A little gem that I would recommend and hopefully return to myself one day.

Wonderfully warm and cosy rooms, comfortable beds and great food; Evelyn and Michel were such friendly hosts, and couldn't have been more helpful. The family room was really spacious, and the shower room fabulous - with plenty of hot water! Maybe bring slippers as its a sisal floor (pretty but a little hard on the feet). We travelled with two small children (7 and 5yrs) and Evelyn and Michel were great - more than happy to arrange an earlier evening meal for them, and have even posted lost children's shoes home to us (emailing me to alert me before I had even realised they weren't with us!). A really short walk to the bus stop and you are up the mountain to Sainte Foy Station. One day the main bus wasn't running, and it took us a while to realise that they had laid on a minibus - you have to figure this out for yourself as the bus driver won't help you! beware! A great stay in a wonderful place. Would definitely return.
