We've been here a couple of times and both times have loved it. Our first visit was for my mum's birthday. We were greated by a friendly bar maid and shown to our table promptly. The food both during our evening and lunch visits were full of flavour and very filling. Our second visit was during the day, again greated up arrival only this time by the pubs cocker spaniel- very friendly and well behaved.

This definitely feels like a true English pub. I hear its in the last year or two been taken over.. The new owners are a real credit to the pubs atmosphere and overall experience.

Had been for a walk and called in for lunch. Nice refurbished interiors and lady serving was very good. Food was a disappointment though. Wont be going back

After a long day I was looking for somewhere local to eat and happened upon this inn. This is one of those rare things nowadays, a pub and eatery that has a genuine feeling of welcoming. The decor is clean and tidy and the greeting from the landlord welcoming. I ordered the rib eye steak - it came cooked to perfection accompanied with well cooked proper chips and onion rings, delicious sweet carrots, mushrooms, tomato and red cabbage - then quite a surprise! Brussel sprouts - I was puzzled by that but it actually worked very well with the dish. Top marks, I will come back again.

We treat ourselves to Sunday lunch once a month in a local pub, Over the past few years we have visited many locally with mixed results. We have now concurred that the Vollie is the best in terms of quality and value, luckily on our doorstep.
Two courses for £15 is par around here and the quality is excellent as well as loads of meat, we go for a roast but there are more standard dishes too. All the food is prepared on site, not brought in.
One tip, ask for the gravy to be served seperately, whilst it is lovely we have learnt that the plate is flooded.
Oh and dogs are very welcome at the bar tables, water bowl and biscuits for them, the tables are sensibly placed so lots of room for a large dog or two without bothering other diners.

My friend and i are always looking for different places for catch up over lunch.we are bit limited on venues as my dog comes with us.this pub is a real gem.it is very pretty location.ample parking.on entering we were made to feel welcome despite lots of people at bar.we learned they were catering for a wake and then a large party.we sat down and commented on the nice decor.drinks were served quickly and our menu brought to us.we both opted for club sandwich.it was huge but due to it being delicious we both managed it all.the bread was very fresh and all ingredients very tasty.the bill was very reasonable.would highly reccomend this pub and cant wait to return
