“Really is Paradise”

We read many wonderful reviews about Peace & Plenty on other sites before making our booking. For the world weary this is the place to recharge, starting with going to sleep in a fantastically comfortable bed to the sound of waves breaking gently on the beach just a few metres away. Loved the garden and we were there at the right time of year - berries galore, salad, vegetables, herbs. The water down there is said to be the purest in the world, so don't miss swimming in ocean and then charge back to the house and jump into the heated indoor pool. Most times the pictures make things look better than they are. But for Peace and Plenty they don't do justice to the house or the fabulous views of the Freycinet.

In addition, the hosts' extra little touches enhanced our stay: a bottle of complimentary local wine (award-winning), quality fresh breakfast provisions, dry foods, coffee/tea, oils and sauces, genuine Yukata (Japanese dressing gowns) made of Japanese Yukata cotton, and not to mention the fully equipped state-of-the-art kitchen. Peace & Plenty is truly a homeaway home!

“Truly Magnificent!”
Reviewed 2 February 2016 for a stay in January 2016

We stayed at Peace and Plenty for three glorious days. I wish we could have stayed longer! From the moment I made contact with Charmaine I knew it would be the perfect stay. The photos of the house speak for themselves. What you see is exactly what you get, if not better. Location is fabulous. Our girls (9 and 13) had a ball and absolutely loved the proximity to the beach, the fabulous pool / spa, picking and eating ripe apples off the tree and collecting fresh herbs for our meals from the beautiful organic garden. While Peace and Plenty is perfectly located for vineyard visits, we saw very little of them as we couldn't tear ourselves away from the house and view. Charmaine's bookshelf is full of fabulous books and magazines and the kitchen is perfect for the keenest foodie / chef. I hope we have the chance to visit again. Thank you Charmaine!!! Cheers, Elizabeth.

“Blissful long weekend by the beach”
Reviewed 27 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed at Peace & Plenty for 3 nights, and it was one of the most relaxing and peaceful short breaks that we've had. The booking process was straight-forward and simple and the house was spacious, bright and comfy. We had a complimentary bottle of local wine (Milton Vineyard) on arrival, breakfast and quality supplies for use during our stay. Charmaine's very detailed and thorough recommendations on nearby wineries, oyster farms and things to do around the area were very useful, but to be honest one of the highlights of our stay was just walking right there on the beach looking at the astounding variety of seashells. Our guests from overseas and us all loved the tranquility of our stay; thank you Charmaine.

“PEACE AND PLENTY PERFECTION”
Reviewed 21 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

PEACE AND PLENTY PERFECTION!!
We were looking for a place of quality, not five star with superb views, privacy, total quiet and basically a home away from home to feel totally relaxed and not be bothered...oh and with the odd winery or two around the area! Well with Peace and Plenty we found exactly what we wanted. The views of The Hazards and the surrounding Swansea area from the house were just spectacular! Brilliant sunrises and sunsets, the changing colours of the granite mountains and of course the majestic clouds rolling up from the south. The house, although simple was superbly decorated in Asian style and as I love to cook there was an amazing induction cooktop, stove and microwave at my fingertips. All the quality pots, Scanpan and cooking accessories were all in easy reach. Charmaine also had little goodies left for us such as bacon, eggs, beautiful Milton wine and even odds and ends like jams, herbs etcetera in the pantry. It was a joy to cook while looking at the view, did I mention the view?? It was so quiet and peaceful just the sound of the waves rolling in and the many birds. BLISS!! But wait there is more! There is the swim spa for that quick dip heated to 32 degrees, just right, oh and with views! We intended to visit the wineries and other areas up the coast but because Peace and Plenty was so welcoming and relaxing, we never left from the time we arrived until the time we left five days later!! Charmaine also has some brilliant books in their shelves which helped pass the day beautifully. The most wonderful holiday we have had, just what we wanted. It felt like we were the only ones in the world. We walked the sands of the spotless (well apart from all the stunning shells lying about) beachfront being a few steps from the house and never saw a soul all five days. The house was also very very clean and well looked after, so we did the same, showed respect. I highly recommend Peace and Plenty if you need plenty of peace and quiet, amazing views and a relaxing time. There will be many return visits..Thank you Charmaine.................Glenn

“Loved it!”
Reviewed 20 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Stayed 3 nights with wife & another couple. Ideal for 4 people as bedrooms/bathrooms are very private. Weather a little windy & cool for beach when there, but outlook over bay is great. Quality cottage with excellent kitchen, dining & lounge area. Made good use of vegetables and fruits from the garden and also appreciated the free bottle of quality local wine and breakfast provisions supplied for our arrival.. Indoor heated pool & spa was slightly too cool at max 30c for us Queenslanders......used it, but 35c-37c would be more enjoyable. One of the highlights of our 2 weeks in Tassie.

Management Response

Dear Allan
I am glad you enjoyed your stay at Peace & Plenty and that you recognised all the good qualities at Peace & Plenty. The garden and kitchen are both unique highlights and have been designed to maximised our guests' stay.

The pool can't be warmer according to the industry standards. It's a spa/pool, cooler than a hot spa but warmer than a swimming pool; and much bigger than a hot spa but much smaller than a swimming pool So it is dangerous for us to be in a large pool of water at 35 - 37 degrees. Unlike a hot spa, the water is not changed but cleaned every day like a swimming pool. Also bacteria will develop if the water is too warm. These are the reasons why our pool is cooler than a hot spa.

“Excellent views, comfort, swimming spa”

We have just left Peace and Plenty, sadly we had to come home.
This accommodation is true to its advertising. Stunning views from main lounge, kitchen area, wild life and birds everywhere.

Well organised documents to explain how to use the special Miele stove induction, wireless, TV, coffee machine, microwave and especially the swimming pool spa!

We have never had such a strong spa massage anywhere, all over the world. The price for this day rate covers the cost of two masseurs , and the spa does it for you. Travelling around for three weeks, our muscles and bones were aching, two times spas later we were limber again. Really great room and would be great in summer, we are in late autumn.

The beach is so close and the big shells we have collected for our family are beautiful conch type ones.
The walk along the beach with sunsets over Freycinet area are a photographers dream. We saw no one else, just a couple of footprints.

Bathrooms two, one with bath, both showers, towel heaters all mod conveniences. Beds queen and comfortable, touch lamps. Could have done with two towels each.

The cleaner needs to keep the main view windows clear, even though with sea and sand. The view truly sells this place! The owner was accessible and easy to talk to by email, before with arrangements and available if needed and being a new home stay for them, they wish to do it to perfection. Charmaine thank you.

We had easy access to the whole east coast from here and there is lots to see. I have done reports In area, but Freycinets Air trip down coast to Marie Island was best.

I had checked out other accomodation in this area, checking them as we drove past, none could compare to this desirable holiday home!

If travelling to Australia, Tasmania is part of it and well worth including in your touring.
