we stayed 5 times and will keep going back to enjoy Chris's warm company, the delicious food and the great fun the Irish Setters provide. We were impressed with the beautiful cottage garden and enjoyed sitting in the garden talking to Chris about her travels, our lives and Irish Setters (as we have one of our own and she has provided very helpful advice when we first got the puppy). Inside the house and the B&B suite are very welcoming, decorated with taste, attention to detail and spotless. There is a living room with chocolates, biscuits, fruits and port, a bedroom decorated in light, relaxing colours and a spacious bathroom. All windows allow perfect views of the village and the countryside.
The breakfast is the best one we've ever had in the UK, not just because of the quality ingredients (sausages from the village butcher that supplies the prime minister:-)), but also the vast choice and exotic options. (Japanese breakfast can be ordered in advance).
We've enjoyed long countryside walks with Chris and her dogs with neighbours sometimes joining in and admiring the views and the bluebells in the right season.
Hacker's End is the perfect base for visiting the Cotswolds, easy driving distance from Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Woodstock and Blenheim with their tourist attractions and shopping and still when you return in the afternoon you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the house and a good meal at the village pub, chequers, which is a mere 3 min walk.
We'll be back again.

A truly lovely stay, Hackers End is the perfect example of why we choose to stay at B&Bs.

Chris, the owner, treats you like a house guest, inviting you into her home and sharing a little bit of her life with you while not intruding on your break. She has two lovely Irish Setters who are extremely friendly and for us were a real highlight of the stay. Chris is a great host and an incredibly interesting person to have some general chit chat with during your stay. To make things even more personal there is only one room, correction - suite, so Chris's attention isn't divided amongst a group of other guests. The suite is attached but separate and private from the owners accommodation and provides you with a comfy bedroom, own spacious bathroom and even a sitting room which would be very welcome particularly during longer stays. My other half commented on the level of detail that the owner went to with the accommodation, everything that you could possibly need was provided and the standard extremely high.

The breakfast is exceptional!! The best i have had anywhere that i have stayed. Great choice of quality local produce, cooked to a professional standard.

We would highly recommend staying at Hackers End if you are looking for somewhere in the area.

What a truly lovely place to stay this is. We stayed here for the second time this past weekend to visit family in Chipping Norton and once again found this to be a truly special b&b. Chris, the owner, is a lovely lady who looks after you from the moment you arrive. The accommodation, consisting of a bedroom with a lovely view of the garden, a separate lounge with TV, DVD, comfy sofa (and also comes with chocolates and a tipple of something lovely in a decanter!) and a lovely bathroom with views of the surrounding fields is all impeccably clean, cosy and spacious. The breakfast is probably the best we have ever had….the fresh fruit, home made granola, warm croissants with home made jams and marmalade and a cooked breakfast (I recommend trying the smoked trout at least once as it is delicious) will set you up for the whole day.

The location of the b&b is also superb. Tucked away from the road so its lovely and quiet is heaven but is also walking distance to The Chequers pub and restaurant. There are plenty of walks to be had in the surrounding glorious countryside and close enough for numerous days out. Its worth driving the 2 miles to Daylesford Organic Farm as well to check out the farm shop – amazing fresh produce, cheese and baked goods.

All in all we cannot recommend Hackers End enough and will never stay anywhere else when visiting the area and would advise you to do the same!

A wonderful place to stay! The suite is comfortable, private and very clean with every detail considered - good quality toiletries, hairdryer, refreshments. and plenty more little touches. The Japanese objets d'art are interesting and give the rooms a unique feel. Breakfast was a particular highlight with lots of choice and homemade jams too! Chris is a lovely and welcoming host, we felt very well looked after - and it was nice to meet Maya (the cat) and Rafi (the dog) too, they really add to the character of the place.

This B&B is absolutely the best. I cannot say enough good things about it! The upstairs suite is wonderful, especially staying for a week...Chris thinks of every little thing and then adds more...snacks and drinks in the sitting room and lots of The place is immaculate. The service lovely. The breakfasts are unbelievable: fresh fruit, poached pairs, homemade jams & curds, fresh coisants, yogart, eggs, sausages, English bacon, broiled tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, coffee & OJ. Can you imagine! And delicious.

The location is perfect to ride around and visit the whole Cotswolds area. We stayed 7 nights and had a great time. Chris was very helpful ... and we had a ton of questions each morning ... on everything from politics, to cooking, to sights to see.

We loved the dog and cat...they are not allowed in the upstairs suite.

We are recommending the place to whoever will listen to us babble.

Look no further for a B&B in the heart of the Cotswolds. Chris gives you a warm welcome. Her home has a first rate suite with bedroom, bathroom and sittingroom. It is immaculate , clean with all the comforts to make your stay so relaxing and peaceful. We stayed for three nights on this our second visit. We enjoyed it so much we had to return. It is a perfect base to see Oxford and all the usual sights of the Cotswolds. We had three wonderful dinners at pubs/restaurants recommended by Chris. If you have any time left her garden is an absolute delight. Rafferty her young Irish Setter welcomes you. We strongly recommend this B&B - you will find no better.

Room Tip: Book early. There is only one bedroom.
