We found this place by chance on the internet and what a find. Situated in a beautiful little Hamlet located well for the xfordshire Cotswolds. We stayed for two nights over Easter and would have no hesitation in going back. The place is traditional cotswolds. We had a very warm welcome, and the room we had was a good size, well presented, immaculately clean and tidy and had everything you need for a break.

The breakfast was superb, with a great choice including a good old english breakfast, cereals, fruit, jam and marmalade if required.

This place puts many hotels to shame and has set itself a very high standard obvioulsy down very much to the hard work of the owners who obviously look on this as a labour of love, we will be back and would recommend it highly.

We stayed in room 3 of The Forge for 2 nights from the 20th Dec and found the stay fantastic. The room was clean and cosy with a flat screen tv and an ensuite with whirlpool bath. Breakfast was great, full english with tea/coffee, juices, fruit, toast, cereals, yoghurt, we couldn't fault it. The owners were lovely, very attentive to our needs and helpful with knowledge of local villages. Great pub accross the road, would recommend the Sunday dinner there to anyone. We're planning to go back, would recommend this B&B to anyone!

Have just returned from a long weekend at the Forge and had a wonderful time. We stayed in room 1 which was beautiful with a lovely four poster bed and the most amazing double wirlpool bath in the bathroom. The room was spotless as was the whole house. Breakfast on both mornings was delicious and really set us up for a day of walking around the delightful Cotswold villages. We ate in the Chequers pub opposite the Forge on our first evening and although very nice we much preferred The Fox at Lower Oddington where we ate on our second night.
Debby and Martin were both very friendly and made us feel very welcome and we are going to book a longer stay there for next June to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.

My brother sister and I stayed here for one night in October 2008 with our 85 yo mother; we were traveling through the Cotswolds heading further east the next day. We had 3 rooms and they were all pristine and the bathrooms immaculate. The owners are bright and personable, we enjoyed talking with them. ALSO they have a computer just for vistor use, a GREAT idea and very helpful for sending quick messages. Parking is directly in front of The Forge, just a few steps to carry your bags and you are inside. Smack across the street is a great restaurant/pub. A word of caution-the pictures of this restaurant/pub don't do it justice, it's MUCH better than photos and the food was excellent.

We spent one night at The Forge but wish we could've stayed longer.

Our room (Room 1) was beautifully furnished with four poster bed, leather Chesterfield sofa and William Morris print wallpaper and matching furnishings. The en suite bathroom was very clean and modern, with a fun whirlpool jacuzzi (a shower was also provided). It was lovely and relaxing.

The B&B itself was a quintessentally English country cottage, with a pretty garden, and the village was quiet and pleasingly rural in character.

The breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was very nice. The pub nearby had a tasty-looking menu, though we didn't get chance to eat there.

The owners were very helpful. We were pleased to note that they had received accreditation for running the B&B in an environmentally-friendly manner.

All in all a great place to stay - we will definately be going back.

My husband and I stayed at the Forge B&B in the small village of Churchill for three nights in April while sightseeing around the Cotswolds. It makes a wonderful base for day trips around the countryside. We were greeted at the door by Martin, the owner, who made us feel most welcome. He even helped us with our luggage upstairs. Our room, #5, was spotlessly clean. We had two nice picture windows looking out over the front and side of the property and the decor was country without being too country. The bathroom was of an average size for the UK, but again so clean. There were plenty of towels and toiletries provided. There was a TV with a vcr (videos to watch were in the lounge) and a radio-cd player. We also had a free wi-fi connection for our laptop. Breakfast was also very good, with made to order eggs, bacon, sausages, juice, toast as well as cereals and fruits if you wished. You just fill out a little form the night before listing what you would like for breakfast the next morning. Churchill is a quite, pretty little town so if you require "nightlife" this would not be the place for you. I would most definately stay there again and would recommend this B&B to anyone who would like a comfortable, clean and friendly place.

We are normally staying in 4 to 5 star hotels. But attending a family event in the Oxfordshire area we wanted to stay overnight nearby. We chose the Forge and were highly impressed by the friendly and efficient service, the cleanliness, the size of the room (no.1) and the breakfast. Everything just perfect!
