What a fantastic start to our honeymoon! The food is fantastic, the service great and there was lots to do. It was snowing a few days prior to our arrival and they kept my husband-to-be up to date on whether we would be able to get to the lodge or not. On arrival they met us outside with refreshment towels and took us to the honeymoon cottage (very secluded and private) and handed us the menu for the night and got the fire in the fireplace going.

They really went out of their way to make it a wonderful experience. We went for a hike in the snow, and when we came back, they made sure the fire was on, they put candles everywhere, and set up a picnic lunch in front of the fireplace.
It was an amazing experience! horse-riding, masages...you name it!

Thank you for making it such a memorable few days!

We were so looking for a good rest when we were given a gift of two nights at Maliba Mountain Lodge. Well nothing could have been better. We were looked after like Kings. Everyone of the staff that we dealt with were exceptionally friendly and keen to make us a comfortable as possible. Our chalet was luxurious and warmly heated with a lovely log fire to add to the ambiance. Then to crown everything, the food was above and beyond excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute and look forward to returning one day. Many thanks!

We had a marvelous stay at the lodge and a fantastic horse ride on the sunday. The ladies had a very nice massage. The food is excellent as is the service.
We were however not aware that the river lodges sleep 8 people and we therfore booked too many. The staff is very very friendly and helpful.
The location with the view especially fromthe deck is absolutely amazing
This lodge is a must go

Room Tip: All rooms I would assume are good

After two weeks of work in Maseru we were looking for a place to relax, enjoy some mountain scenery, have some long hikes for exercise, and enjoy some good food. Maliba Mountain Lodge looked a good choice, and it was readily accessible by paved road. What we did not anticipate was that it would be so special. My wife and I both agree that in our travels through 70 countries over many years we have never had a room as nice as our chalet at Maliba. The private view of the valley from our deck was spectacular, the amenities, including the fireplace in the bedroom, and the heated floor in the bathroom were greatly appreciated as the early winter season meant a very chilly evening. The chef and his team also put on many remarkable meals. What a beautiful place!

Room Tip: There are only six chalets in the main lodge. Book early to be sure it is available.

My husband and I stayed at Maliba Mountain Lodge in May 2013. The effort the staff put in was above our highest expectations. Every evening after dinner, we were welcomed in our stylish Lesotho chalet by the warmth of a fire in the fireplace, a stocked-up bar fridge, chocolates on our pillows, fresh coffee, milk and tea...Candles everywhere. Compliments to the cheff..the food was "out of this world"! The staff attended to all our needs even when we did not expect it. A romantic picnic at the river...just for us prepared with lawn, blankets, excellent food! The units each have a private deck under the trees where the staff of the Health Spa did our massages and treatments..their efforts was excellent! Thank you to all at Maliba! Clive and Leanne Cumberlege.

Room Tip: There are only 5 Lesotho style huts..they are all great!

Great sense of Ubuntu(botho) among staff. We stayed a weekend; got there at mid night with reception closed. The security guard on duty did everything for us. we never missed reception services. on the next day we went on a 9KM hike along the wonderful mountains. later in the night to our surprise our challet was romantically decorated, lights dimmed...we had a real 5 star treat.
