“Great service, Great location.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2014

We had lunch here this week. Cold starters followed by a cheese fondue. All food was excellent, the service from Madame the same. The setting is fab. Would recommend to all.

“Fab moules...”

Had great moules, frogs legs and snails all cooked typically French. Struggled to get a table on a busy Saturday afternoon but who the wait.

“Wonderful views - shame we weren't allowed to see them”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 January 2014

We arrived at this beautiful place which has stunning views over the lake. We were ready for a drink after a lovely walk around the Lac. After ordering, we took a seat in the front room with a large window overlooking the lake and surrounding mountains. The server brought our drinks and shouted at us as we were sitting in the restaurant part.

We were directed in to the back of the room which was empty, dark and only had a small window at the side.

The restaurant did have a homely feel and I had a tasty hot chocolate. The whole experience left us a little sour.

It didn't help that we were rushed to pay the bill 2 minutes after getting our drinks and not given our change.

This is a beautiful restaurant but the service we received was unfortunately poor.

“Breathtaking scenery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2014

A lovely little french restaurant set in fantastic surroundings. The frozen lake is a perfect walk to set yourself up for a lovely meal in this warming family run restaurant. The menu is good and food plentiful and warming. We travel to the area 4 -5 times a year and always visit the restaurant.

“A splendid family celebration”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2013

Morzine is very quiet at this time of year and we needed somewhere special to celebrate a family birthday. Le Bout du Lac was perfect. We didn't book, we just walked in and Madame coped with the multi generational multi demand requirements with a wonderful bustling French aplomb.

Jacques had been planning his fondue all weekend having persuaded Granny to share it with him, Mafdame adapted his requirements very slightly and he was even more delioghted, Pierrade for some of the others and she insisted it needed to be the one flamed in Scotch, it was perfect, Molly got her frogs legs, and Tilly her M&M's ice cream. Great Uncle Ian was so enchanted he paid half the bill !

3 generations, all with different ambitions, and the view, as ever, to die for, so we got wonderful photos of the rare occasion to remember it by.

We have been before and we will always revisit, let it last forever.
