Whenever we're in The Alps we try to visit Montriond for lunch in this lovely restaurant overlooking this beautiful copper blue lake.
This family run B&B, and restaurant, is well presented (recently refurbished) and incredibly busy in summer with its wide terrace on the shores of the lake with great views and a tranquil atmosphere.
The menu is solid rather than exciting, the salads are particularly good, as are the steaks and the potato fritters, the prices are reasonable (about 10 or 12 euros for a salad or the day's special) and the service is friendly (English as well as French being spoken)
In the height of summer the service can sometimes struggle to keep up with the high demand. This only seems to bother some of the English customers. The French, and those of us who've been there a few times just relax, admire the view and know all will be well.
