Chalet Amuse Bouche
Reviewed 18 March 2014

My girlfriend and I stayed at Chalet Amuse Bouche in January 2014 and the first thing we did when we got home was to try to book again and we were lucky enough to go back again in March!
Steve and Lindsey are great hosts, they bent over backwards to get us to the slopes early, arranging transfers, ski hire and passes before we arrived which meant we could make the most of every minute we were there. The arrangements Steve and Lindsey have with both Skiidy Gonzales transfers and Doorstep Skis meant that the process of landing in Geneva to heading up the Pleney was seamless, on each visit we were skiing within 4 hours of taking off from London.
The bespoke chalet is brand new and exceptionally well fitted out with every element and fitting of an exceptionally high standard; my own particular favourite features were the super comfortable beds, quality showers and the stunning views from the rooms and hot tub.
Steve was kind enough to drop us off and pick us up from whatever lift we wanted, whenever we wanted and was always just a phone call away. In my experience not many chalets offer this level of service and it was very much appreciated.
All in all, I would definitely encourage anyone to visit Chalet Amuse Bouche, the atmosphere in the Chalet on each visit has been really friendly and very relaxed. There have been a number of groups who have visited when we've been at the chalet and the feeling amongst all the guests I spoke to was that they had an awesome holiday and loved everything about the chalet.

It was a pleasure to welcome you both back to Chatel Amuse Bouche and thanks for the positive feedback. Also it's great to know your experience with our partners Skiidy Gonzales and Doorstep Ski's was seamless and also a good experience.

We hope to see you again and thanks again.

Just got back from 5 days staying with Steve & Lindsay and can't wait to go back next year.
The location worked brilliantly for 11 blokes of varying ski-abilities but all wanting to lunch together.
This was my first visit to the area and I can't believe I've never been before.
The breakfasts set you up for a long day and the evening meals would not be out of place in a 5* Hotel.

Just came back from a long weekend at Steve and Lindsay's chalet. The Chalet is brand new and built and designed to a very high standard. What really made the trip though is the service that Steve and Lindsay offer. The food is off the charts, and getting to the slopes is made simple with drop offs and pick ups seemingly available in infinite combinations. I really can't see how you wouldn't enjoy this place.

We stayed for 5 days in January and had the most amazing time and could not fault this chalet in any way. From the moment we arrived (which unfortunately for Steve and Lindsay was very late) the welcome and hospitality was perfect. They are brilliant hosts and as others have said nothing is too much trouble, they are both incredibly attentive to their guests needs and it is clear that they are passionate and committed to making sure everyone has a wonderful time. The chalet itself is in a lovely location in the village and is like something from a magazine, simply stunning, we pinched ourselves every morning that we were waking up in such an amazing place. We had been particularly looking forward to the food as we knew that Steve and Lindsay had previously owned and run a restaurant and we were not disappointed, it is amazing, from the scrumptious breakfast in the morning (can recommend the swiss museli), Lindsay's cakes (recommend Devonshire splits) and the exquisite dinner in the evening (recommend all of it!), all delicious. Steve took us and collected us everyday from the slopes which was fantastic, it was only a very short trip to the Ardent bubble and from there you could quickly get into Avoriaz or Switzerland for some fantastic skiing. Steve and Lindsay deserve every success in their latest venture and we can't wait to return!

Just come back from a weeks stay with Steve and Lyndsay at the Amuse Bouche and had a wonderful time. The chalet is stunning, with care taken on every detail to make it a luxurious experience. Particularly fell in love with the plumbing. Beds were spacious and amazingly comfy. Steve and Lyndsay are wonderful hosts, nothing is too much trouble, and they are so friendly and helpful. Last but by no means least is the food. Steve's experience as a chef ensures a superb and creative meal every evening and Lyndsay's love of baking certainly shows in the yummy cakes awaiting you on your return from a hard day's skiing.

I have just returned from a weekend at Chalet Amuse Bouche with a group of 7 friends and we had a fantastic time.

The Chalet is brand new and has been finished to an extremely high standard with beautiful bathrooms and a gorgeous open-plan kitchen, dining, lounge area.

There is an outdoor hot tub which overlooks the mountains - its the perfect way to relax after a day on the slopes. There is also a games room and sauna!

Lindsey and Steve organised our transfers from Geneva which were great value for money and ran like clockwork with the driver waiting in arrivals wearing a sombrero. The usual transfer time is around 90 minutes. They also organised for Doorstep Skis to deliver our equipment to the chalet which was excellent and saved a lot of time.
The chalet is not ski in ski out but Steve is more than happy to drop off and collect daily from the Ardent lift.

The food was outstanding. It was like dining in a restaurant every night.
Lindsey's cakes were delicious and served every afternoon with tea and coffee.

We all had an amazing time and would not hesitate to book again.

Thank you Lindsey and Steve for an amazing time - you are great hosts and we look forward to seeing you again

Room Tip: I stayed in Room 5 which had a huge bath and separate shower, private balcony and fantastic views.

Just returned from a 3 night trip, absolutely fantastic. The chalet and the service we received was second to none, the best Chalet experience I have ever had and I have stayed in quite a few. Don't worry about not being ski in ski out, Steve has the drop off down to a fine art, you don't even need to touch your skis, he loads them onto the transfer bus for you, on arrival at the Ardent Gondola you are a gondola and a chair lift away from either the centre of Avoriaz one way or the Swiss side of the region the other way. Not being in the centre of town was no issue, we finished our days in a bar at the bottom of the mountain, got picked up by Steve when we were ready, then back for afternoon tea, followed by pre dinner drinks with canapes and an expertly prepared four course dinner, the chalet is so comfortable, you don't want to go anywhere else. The ski delivery service works very well too, I didn't miss the usual bun fight with hoardes of others in the Ski Hire shop at all. Great place for a family holiday, the games room would be a big hit with the kids, i wouldn't see mine for sure, pool table, darts, TV with DVD's and XBox, fantastic. We will be going back and would absolutely recommend to others, not too many though as we may not be able to get in.
