“Fantastic venue, area and hosts”
Reviewed 26 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

The chalet is very spacious and set in a nice small hamlet, around 5mins drive from Auris ski station, which Alex drove us up to everyday whatever the weather; thanks!. The location is great: Auris en oisans provides un-crowded skiing and great/easy access (green runs and above) to Alp d'huez. Also Les Deux alps is only across the valley if you get bored!

Alex and Lainy were perfect hosts, dropped us at the ski hill each day, cooked great meals, showed us around the ski resorts. I would recommend to anyone!

“True Alpine Heroes!”
Reviewed 4 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Myself and the Mrs have stayed here twice now. Once in summer of 2014 and most recently Jan 2015 for skiing.
The chalet is amazing! Big & warm bedrooms, huge open plan living space and kitchen w/ open fire and is located between 3 amazing ski resorts (which not only are great ski resorts but good for mountain biking etc in the summer).
Alex & Lainy are fantastic hosts, who know the area very well and will make sure you and your group have an awesome time.
If you are considering staying here, book it, you won't regret it! I can't wait to go back.

Liked best: The kitchen/living area is fantastic not forgetting the vast array of coffee making options!
Liked least: If I was being very picky - the chalet is not right on the slopes.

“Amazing Ski Holiday...”
Reviewed 27 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

I've just arrived home after spending an amazing week at the chalet. The facilities were fantastic and easily accommodated our large group of friends. The ski conditions did not disappoint and the terrain at Alp d'Huez had lots of variety for everyone in our party of skiers and boarders of all levels. What truly set this ski experience apart was the chance to ski with our hosts. Touring around the mountain with someone with an intimate knowledge of the terrain made this a trip that I will never forget.

“Just returned & already trying to book the same week next year!”
Reviewed 26 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

I've just spent the last week in this chalet for a Ski/Snowboarding trip.

I went with 2 friends, and in total it was 17 of us, all connected through other guests.

The Chalet is absolutely impressive. There is a fantastic open plan kitchen/living room with a massive table that seats everyone, so the evenings are really fun and chilled. The fireplace is amazing and it is next to a big television.

The rooms are big enough, warm (there is underground heating!) and beds are comfy.

There are powershowers, and the facilities like boot rooms and workshop to fix/wax skis/snowboards are there too.

The guys running the place are absolute legends, and involve everyone in evening dinners (we did "come dine with me" theme where each night a group would cook) and know exactly which places are good to go out at night whether they are restaurants or bars.

They are really very friendly and professional, and they are also fantastic on the pistes, showing us which runs are best, which mountains are safest for off-piste, and which pistes are most recommendable for each of our levels.

The ski resorts are incredible too. We got the Grand Galaxy ski pass which gave us access to over 250km of pistes in a large choice of valleys in the surrounding area (2 Alpes, Alp D'Huez, Auris...) and we were driven in a mini bus and a car by the kind hosts every day.

I seriously recommend this place for every reason possible - from the value of money to begin with, especially as the hosts can recommend best places for ski hire, include travel, can provide breakfast... And for the sheer fun of being in an awesome Chalet that provides absolutely everything required for a Ski holiday, from the essentials all the way to fun boardgames and activities in the evenings.

I have also heard about this place being booked during warm seasons for those who like hiking, cycling and all outdoor activities during the warm months. Don't forget that Alp D'Huez is the most fascinating Tour De France stage!

I will be going back again next year, and the years after!

“amazing chalet in between two great resorts!”
Reviewed 26 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

A group of 17 of us stayed at Chalet la Balme and had a fantastic week. The chalet is beautiful and spacious, with a cosy living area. Both resorts provided great skiing for all levels, and our hosts were helpful and fun. Highly recommended!

It not too many words... Comfortable, relaxing environment in a beautiful setting. Based perfectly between three great ski resorts. Hosts could not do enough for us, both were warm and generous. Highly recommended... Can't wait to try it all again in the summer!

Thanks guys!
