“Lovely pub”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

Quaint pub in the beautiful Cotswold countryside. Great location for exploring the local area. Staff all very friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar on the first night of our two night stay. My meal was nice, side of vegetables slightly late but nothing drastic. My partners meal was not completely to his liking but he was hungry and it was edible so he ate it. When the plates were cleared we were asked how our meals were, and my partner explained that in his view aspects of the dish could have been better. The owner was obviously informed as he came to speak to us and unfortunately made us feel embarressed we had said anything. We certainly did not dare mention the next 2 mornings that the full english had cremated black pudding one day, and was missing fried bread the next morning. We were not charged for the meal but as this was not the object of the feedback it did little to improve the customer experience.

Booked in for 2 nights as a base to explore the Cotswolds. Family room/suite on the ground floor was spacious, comfortable and clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Dinners were also good but we felt attention to detail by waiting staff could have been better, however this did not spoil our experinece. Bar area has been upgraded and modernised with a clean fresh look but still retaining the character of the place and they serve good local ales.

Went to The Lamb Inn as the starting point for a walk. Staff were helpful and friendly (once we got their attention!) and our lunch was great - my husband had some kind of duck egg and mushrooms on toast which he said was fantastic.
Very quiet when we were there (just one group of OAPs), and lovely for lunch and a quick drink before going for a walk.

we stayed for one night in The Lamb inn, I wish we could have stayed longer. It is an awesome hotel. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. Nothing is too much asked. The staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable. The breakfast was one of the best we ever had. We also dined in the restaurant - is was simply great. The chef clearly had an excellent fine dining background. Cannot wait to go back.

My wife and i used to stay here regularly but hadn't been for about 9 years so decided to go for lunch whilst driving from London to Stroud. I was delighted that we could get a table in the garden but apprehensive as the place was not full on such a glorious Sunday. I didn't need to be concerned though. The service from the staff was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble including catering for my wifes food intolerances. We ordered our drinks and two Sunday Roasts, the Bitter was great, and we waited in the sun for our lunch. At the time it seemed quite a long wait but once the food arrived it was clear that everything was cooked from Fresh so well worth it. The Roast Lunch was probably one of the best that i've had at a Pub/Restaurant, homemade Yorkshire Pudding, rich gravy, Sirloin beef, perfect Cauliflower Cheese and masses of other vegetables. Based on our previous experiences of The Lamb and the excellent lunch we had on Sunday we are planning to go back for a weekend just as soon as we can . This place was excellent when we first went about 16 years ago and it still is.

We stayed for one night at picturesque Lamb Inn in June, it's about 10 mins drive to Bourton on Water and well placed for other Cotswold areas of interest. We stayed on the first floor in a queen room overlooking the beer garden and our sons (18/23yrs) stayed in a twin at the front of the inn, the rooms were lovely, very comfortable and clean. With the exception of one (female) who let the side down, we found the rest of the staff to be very friendly. Dinner in the restaurant was very enjoyable (we invited friends over from Cheltenham and they also commented positively), the food was good quality and the wait-staff helpful. Breakfast was good - the cereals, toast, yogurt and fruit were buffet style and the hot food was offered from a menu (nice change). Would recommend The Lamb Inn - thanks.

Room Tip: Not sure if the main building would suit elderly / disabled guests due to stairs and multi-level flo...

Had a good stay at the Lamb, mainly thanks to the hospitality of Paul who was really welcoming. We stayed with our dog, Monty, and stayed in the Sherbourne Suite which was a lovely looking room.

The location is great - such a beautiful Cotswolds village, and plenty of good walks nearby. We found the deal through Groupon and was good value. We upgraded the room for a nice big super king size bed, and lovely charater bedroom.

The small issues we had during our stay were: cold water in the shower in the morning - they apologised for this and offered us to use a shower in another room. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable, and the service in the evening meal was a bit hit and miss, but apart from this we enjoyed the stay!
