Having dined here several times over the past couple of years, I feel that I should finally recommend this to others. This restaurant is located in the centre of Chalais, on the bank of the river Tude (across the road from Intermarche). It is a small family run restaurant with fairly limited table numbers both inside the restaurant, and on the terrace overlooking the river - so it is well worth either arriving quite early - or booking. The food is all cooked fresh to order by the chef on a single small plancha (hotplate), so your order will arrive in batches of a couple dishes at a time. He works wonders from this open to view kitchen, preparing dishes for what is usually a very busy restaurant The food is absolutely delicious. A must really has to be the moules a la plancha, the gambas, or the cœur du canard.
