I'm a regular visitor to the restaurant which has good food at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and flexible, even when groups arrive without notice. The location is easy to find being on the A40 near St Clears and next to a petrol station. Very central for tourists with easy access to the coast or hills. We regularly hold club meetings in the bar with the good car park, good food and helpful staff being our main reason for loyalty. I only mark it down one level because of the poor seating in the main restaurant area. Not at all comfortable, which is why we always use the better seats in the bar area. The food is just the same. Friends staying at the hotel were happy with the rooms and slept well, which is most important.

Just had a3 night stay at the lodge. After travelling for hours on our motor bikes (we were at a show down at the show ground)we were made very welcome there was a mix up on one of our rooms but it was soon fixed. Breakfast and evening meals we're freshly cooked and enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again. All staff we're helpful and very friendly

On our holiday to Tenby with our grandson we decided to stop off at The Forge Resturant for a light bite, as due to bank holiday traffic our usual trip of two hours took longer than expected.
We often visit this Inn for food but the previous time we weren't too happy with the food or price, but decided to give it another go...However, we wished we hadn't bothered !
I ham sandwich with crisps.. 1 bacon and egg sandwich (without any crisps or garnish) and 2 slices of toast with bacon and poached eggs ..With tea, coffee and milk £18.00...!!
Now, some people might find that about right .. but for 2 slices of bread and butter with a slice of ham in the middle and a charge of £4.50 I think that was ridiculous, and for a child too.
My husband asked for crispy bacon.. It wasn't crispy , mine was fatty and extremely greasy. .
The lady who served us was lovely and polite. Sorry but we definitely won't be coming back again.

Comfortable stay although only one night. Massive room, plenty of parking and very good breakfast. Lovely view across the fields. Only drawback really was the fact that it is a little way out of St. Clears but not a big problem. Other than that, no complaints.

We pulled in to this place to stay without a booking & were pleased to find they had a lodge room available. The room was enormous, away from the restaurant & really comfortable. Plus any time that WiFi is included is a good time! We loved the meals (get the garlic potatoes!!!) and breakfast was great too. it was an enjoyable stay & seriously what could be cooler than dining in an old blacksmith's forge!

I did not find my room to be spacious or particularly modern, especially the bathroom. Whilst there was an excellent power shower, it was let down by the rest of the bathroom which was a dated cream suite with tiles and towels that had seen better days - nothing like the bathroom seen in the pictures on the website . Whilst the room was clean, the décor and bed linen were again dated. My room was not a "lodge" but a room on a general hotel like corridor. One worrying thing was that the room, being on the ground floor, did not have security locks or restrictors on the window. Therefore I did not feel safe, and I could not have the window open during the night. I was travelling on business and a female on my own. I had to leave before breakfast was served and they kindly made me some very nice ham sandwiches to take with me, plus some crisps, fruit and a bottle of water. The free wifi was excellent - very fast!
