“Fantastic Weekend!”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

We read the reviews on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed! Simply the best B&B we have ever stayed in at a very reasonable price. Excellent location for Lyme Regis, Beer, Branscome and Sidmouth. Room was immaculate, quality breakfast and all the information you could need on the locality. Secure car parking was the icing on the cake!

10/10 We'll be back with a classic car next time!

All the feedback is discussed and fed back to the team, these positive reviews are great to further boost motivation and keep us on our toes and moving forward. We are striving for even higher standards and services as we continue on with new ideas and the current programme of bathroom refurbishment .

We stayed at The Bakehouse for the first few days of the summer holidays this year. A family of 4, sharing a family room.

The room is ideal for a small family, plenty of room to move around and a good bathroom with shower and bath. The breakfast is amazing! Pretty much everything you could possibly want, with 2 hungry children who love their fruit and yogurts not to mention toast and croissants! And a husband who loves a hot breakfast - this was perfect! Nothing is too much trouble for Frances, she makes you feel very welcome and will make sure you have a great stay.

There is a guest fridge to keep your milk cold and a freezer for your ice packs in a communal room, along with a tumble dryer - Very handy for our travels.

The place is very quiet too - it was fully booked whilst we there and we didn't hear a thing when we were in. Even with the pub/restaurant opposite - it is very quiet.

The Bakehouse is situated in the middle of the village and its ideal for exploring the area. There are eateries within walking distance and lovely pubs a short drive away too. Musn't forget the tram - a great adventure with little ones! Sidmouth and Lyme are a short drive away and these were our favourite places to visit whilst we were staying.

Overall thoroughly recommended - we will be back and look forward to visiting the area again. Thank you for a great stay,

The Tilburys.

This was our second visit to the bake house, we returned for the Easter weekend having stayed last year. Colyton is a quaint cozy and unspoilt village and this is reflected in our stay at the bake house, Francis made us feel welcome, relaxed and was flexible to all of our requirements. We will definitely return and it's our first port of call when we escape to the westcountry

Stayed with husband two weeks ago and couldn't fault anything. A very warm welcome from Francis the owner. Room had lovely view of village, so peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was perfect. Nothing too much trouble love fact guests have a fridge with fresh milk to help themselves to or keep your wine cool . Everything seems to have been thought of and it was my birthday whilst there and was made to feel very special . Very thoughtful hosts. Hope to return soon.

What a lovely find. I had made a mistake about an event location we were going to and had to find a b and b at very short notice. WE found the old bakehouse and what a treasure it turned out to be, Our host Francis could not have been more helpful and friendly. THe whole place is amazing with a great breakfast, lovely staff and a top location. I would definately stay again when we are in Devon. Marie and Ed

Place was clean, very friendly, great food, nothing too much for Frances. Would stay again and bring family, good central location to area. Stayed here to do a river cottage course - perfect location for that. Highly recommend it. Free Wi-Fi very handy to Skype the family at home too.

Room Tip: All rooms looked ideal.

We had a lovely welcome from Frances and were pleased with our family room. Breakfast was great and they even had a gluten free option which was greatly appreciated. Would definitely stay there again as the surrounding areas were lovely too.
