we had a great stay. we liked being able to show our baby the animals on the farm and using the games room. the facilities in the granary were fine and it was nice and peaceful to sleep. the nearby towns are very pretty and the coastline provides plenty to explore. we did a walk from Beer to Branscombe and back and ate one evening in the Smugglers Kitchen in Beer which had good food.

“Wonderful place to base yourselves to see this area of Devon”
Reviewed 31 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Owners extremely friendly and couldn't have made us more welcome. We hired the two cottages and the swallows cabin to celebrate family birthday. Great for the grandchildren, big open spaces for them to run around in view of the cottages, games room, tennis court, heated pool. Because we were a big group the owner even put a large gazebo up by the cottages, with tables and chairs so we could all eat together. So quiet, heard the occasional farm vehicle. Barbecue charcoal all supplied, use of freezer and washing machine in storeroom. Will definitely come again.

“Wonderful pool and setting, friendly management, superb stay”
Reviewed 26 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Stayed for a long weekend to attend a party nearby. On one night, six of us stayed, with two on the comfy sofa bed. Cottage is beautifully refurbished, with lovely bathroom and good shower. Kitchen has slimline dishwasher and easy cooking facilities and utensils. Everything was spotless, linen and towels luxurious, plenty of hot water - we really could not fault our stay. The pool was lovely and warm and the surroundings stylish and spotlessly clean. As a family, we will definitely return - a really enjoyable stay.

“Wall to wall sunshine!”
Reviewed 29 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

I would recommend a stay at Barritshayes to anyone who wants a relaxing break in the stunning Devon countryside. We spent our week walking the dog, visiting seaside towns and villages and eating at some great restaurants and pubs. We even had a little game of tennis each afternoon! We were so lucky that the weather was superb all week - not bad for April. Having stayed at many different holiday cottages, this was definitely our favourite.

“Short family break”
Reviewed 4 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Family short break for family of 5 two adults three children. Barritshayes is fantastic place to relax with great views. Loads of space and activity for the three children from great outdoor heated pool tennis, pool, table tennis, darts space for football and cricket. We had bed and breakfast which was superb and tasted great. Liz and GOrdon could not have been more helpful. Overall a great break and would have no hesitation in recommending Barritshayes.
