My wife and I booked Crawleyside Cottage for a couple of days for our 1st wedding anniversary and we had a lovely break whilst staying there. The anniversary card and welcome basket were a really lovely touch. The cottage itself is a lovely 2 up 2 down with free WiFi and an amazing wood or coal buring fire which heats the full place up in around 15 mins max. Waking up in one of the most comfortable beds ever and taking in the amazing views is something I would never get tired of. Down the hill from the cottage is a lovely little village with everything you need including some lovely bars with some amazing gins!! If you find yourself in the Grey Bull at the bottom of the hill and have your gin goggles on haha ask the landlord to ring his friend who is a taxi driver to come and pick you up to take you back up to the cottage for a couple of pound. All in all we had a lovely relaxing couple of days and would book again and highly recommend it to others. Would like to say a massive thank you to Vicky and Adam for our lovely stay. Book it, you won't be disappointed.
Lovely stay in a perfect cottage. Stanhope is a great village with plenty of traditional amenities. Hot water abit hit and miss but it didn’t spoil our stay. Would definitely stay here again. Loved the Wood burner.
Stopped her me in March! Nice little cottage! Good kitchen amenities and a lovely little welcome hamper left for us with was very thoughtful. Nice and clean with a good shower! Private parking out the front was good!
As an old cottage it’s expected to be a little chilly however make sure if you travel you’re fire starting skills are up to scratch! The log burner is lively but a little frustrating to get the house warm when you’ve been out all day.
It was a Shame about the non private yard as it was a bit of a chore taking a 5 month old puppy out to toilet in the lead!
Lovely comfy bed! Great location for walks across the burns.
All in all a good trip and would recommend
Great little cottage with amazing views only a stones throw away from stanhope. The house is all you need for a great stay away from home. The Roaring fire when we arrived to the little welcome basket that included wine and chocolates...what more could you ask for. Wi-Fi and tv a added bonus. Cosy night infromt of fire after a couple of hours in village which has some great things to offer from a fabulous tearoom to friendly pubs. Will definatley be back and recommend to friends.
My family and I stayed here for 5 days during the Summer holidays. The cottage is a beautiful, cosy, homely cottage and has everything you would need for a break away. The cottage is presented very nice and is very clean. We felt very much at home here. I have a 1 year old baby and had the usual concerns of him perhaps not sleeping great on our first few nights however he slept amazing I couldnt believe it, it was such a quiet and peaceful location and the fresh air must of done him good. The welcome basket was a very nice special touch when we got there. The cottage is in a perfect location being a short distance away from the open air pool and from the main street in Stanhope and is perfect for walking and taking littlest ones on adventures. We had a lovely time my 5 year old didn't want to come home. Thank you Vicky and Adam for being fantastic hosts and making our holiday a very memorable one we will be returning.
We have stayed 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend and had a great time exploring the area and enjoying evenings by the fireplace.
The cottage is comfortable, well equipped, clean and very quiet at night and we loved the views from our bedrooms. The host is friendly and welcoming- thank you for welcome hamper.
We would definitely stay again !
