We stayed in a bungalow this December and really enjoyed ourselves. The resort is a short walk to the beach and nicely tucked away from the bulk of Kamala beach yet still easy to get to restaurants at night. The bungalow was lovely and spacious and the service was great. It's a smaller, more personal solution at Phuket.

Hello from Royal Embassy Resort. Thank you for your review and your kind words about your stay.
To know you enjoyed your holiday here, is very rewarding to myself and my team. This year we set ourselves a goal to try and give all our guests the special service that Thailand is so famous for. Having only 20 rooms helps us tremendously in ensuring our guests not only have a good time, but that we try to meet all their exspectations with their holiday with us.
Have a great 2014 and just to say it was a real pleasure having you as our guests

We stayed in a one bed apartment and it was huge with a large balcony overlooking the pools and lovely tended garden. We met up with our son, his partner and our two year old grandson from Australia, they upgraded to a two bed apartment that was very spacious. Phil the owner and his staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. We wanted to do a half day sightseeing trip and we were offered the hotel vehicle and driver as a guide at a much cheaper rate than the local taxi`s. The free shuttle service to the beach was also useful.
We ate a lot at the hotel as the choice of food was excellent and the prices were very good there was also room service at no extra cost.
The only downside and this has nothing to do with the hotel was a nearby mosque calling people to pray about five times a day.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review on Tripadvisor and for your wonderful comments about my team and I. It was a real pleasure to have you and your family as our guests and so nice to know that you all enjoyed your stay. The mosque is an ongoing struggle, we have met with the local municipality and discussed the idea of turning the sound down a little on the early morning prayer, however the response has been negative so far. The speakers on on about every 4th lamp post in Kamala, so there is no escaping from it, however some guests say, they find it quite soothing to listen too and many must be better sleepers than you or I, as they say they have never have heard the early morning call. We will however not let this matter sleep ( excuse the pun) and along with other hotels, will continue to look for a solution.Hope to see you back again one day.
All the best to you and your family for 2014

Good value for money hotel. We chose the bungalow one bedroom accommodation and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. Service was very friendly and you must make use of the on site spa and wonderful massage therapists. We will come back!

This was our first trip to Thailand. We were visiting friends who live there and although they could have arranged accommodation for us we liked the look of this small hotel online. We e mailed before arriving and arranged a taxi to pick us up. The driver was there waiting on us , cost was about £18.00 well worth it. On arrival we were greeted by the owner Phil and shown to our bungalow, as we arrived late at night it was nice to be treated so well. The one bed roomed bungalow was excellent, minibar, very reasonably priced, flat screen tv and great air conditioning. Really clean and maid service every day, no matter when you got up the room was cleaned. Very friendly staff and always glad to help. The meals were excellent, breakfast lunch and dinner with extensive menu. Nice classy and comfortable, you can have room service at no extra charge. Not near the beach but the hotel runs a courtesy bus daily, in fact wherever you want to go they will arrange transport. Took us into Patong for £6.00. The pool area is lovely and plenty of sun beds, drinks and food served poolside. Jack the pet rabbit roams around the garden and likes to be petted. The staff are always around, never intrusive but always there and nothing is a bother, so friendly. Phil who owns and runs the hotel is excellent, helpful and informative and friendly. There are a lot of five star hotels in Phuket where you can stay but this wee gem is well worth a visit. Having your own wee bungalow was great, shut the curtains at night and enjoy all the privacy with all the service of a hotel, no noise, not hundreds of other people sharing your living space. Had a great holiday and will definitely re visit.

Room Tip: We stayed in bungalow b3.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and for your wonderful comments. Next time we have a team meeting, I will be reading your review and others, ( translated by Aree) as money or recognition, is the best motivational tool possible for them. They all get a real kick out of comments made about them, regardless if it is about the restaurant, housekeeping or just overall service, or all three, as you have done, so thank you for including them in your wonderful review. Nice to know you intend coming back again one day, I am sure the team will pretty much be the same, as all of them except one, has been with me over a year now.
Wishing yoy a happy and healthy 2014

in the beginning it was quite disappointing as the resort did not look very nice. The pools were very small, the room did not look very comfortable, and there was no free shuttle to Padong, and only 2 shuttles everyday to Kamala beach. And the wifi in the room was poor.

However, it turned out to be a very pleasant stay, the staffs were extremely nice and with excellent service. And it was just ten minutes walk from Kamala beach. Although it took around an hour drive to Padong, Kamala was a very quiet and peaceful place without many tourists.

On the other hand, although there were only 2 small pools inside the hotel, it was quite relaxing and definitely not crowded. Good to spend some times in it.

Overall it was a cool and cheap resort to stay, but better not having very high expectation.

Room Tip: The apartment with kitchen is nice, big enough for 5 people (2 rooms for 4 people plus one extra bed...

Thank you for your review on your stay at Royal Embassy, its good to know that after your initial disappointing, that after a short time you ended up enjoying yourself with our service and facilities.
Regarding the two disappointing points you made, we only have 20 apartments or Villa's so I was surprised you thought our pool size was not big enough, as my pool maintenance company say most similar size hotels on Phuket Island, their pool are smaller than ours, plus we do have a children's pool as well. The free transport to Patong unfortunately is not an option, the Taxi's and Tuk Tuk's allow us to provide free transport around Kamala only, we would need a special license and permission from the taxi company to venture out of Kamala and currently the Phuket Island taxi's have to much power, so it is not possible, I'm sorry to say.
Good to know however, that overall you enjoyed your stay with us. Wishing you all the best for 2014 From the team at Royal Embassy Resort

We stayed at this facility for a few days in one of the bungalows. There are bungalows and then a more standard hotel area. The bungalow was very nice and the largest "hotel room" I have ever stayed in. There is a large living room, decent-sized bathroom, and a bedroom that by itself was probably larger than most hotel rooms.

The location is not ideal and most taxi drivers don't know it so you might end up having to give them directions as they drive. One benefit is it's very close to this absolutely fantastic Muslim market. We went over one night and loved seeing (and trying) the various types of food and fruit. For me, that market defined what it meant to be in a completely foreign environment and I highly recommend it.

One saving grace is that the hotel offers a free shuttle to the beach and main road that was always available when we wanted it.

Because you're in a completely separate structure (bungalow), it was pretty quiet. Our bungalow was right in front of the kiddie pool so there was some noise early in the mornings (some people may enjoy waking up to the ecstatic shrieking of small children).

The staff was very helpful in setting up taxis and coordinating pick-up for an excursion we booked separately. The free breakfasts were pretty good.

Hi there from Virginia and thank you for taking the time to write a review. It was an absolute pleasure in having you stay and so good to know, you enjoyed it so much. Yes we are lucky the developer did make all the rooms a good size. The Villa's are all 55 sq mt rs, the one bedroom apartments 75 sq mt rs and the 2 bedroom 115sq mt rs, quite unusual for a hotel or resort.. It is a problem on Phuket Island with taxi's not knowing where hotels are, but I guess, as there is over 1000 of them, it would be hard to remember them all. We recently erected a government approved sign, written in Thai and English, 50mtrs from our corner, in both directions, on the main road, to help with identification for the drivers ( and the guests) when returning from Patong or elsewhere, so hopefully that will improve there knowledge of where we are. All the best for 2014 and once again, thank you for your review

Very friendly staff who helped with everything from booking boats to booking tours. Food here is really good and served with a lot of flair. It's nice to be a little of the busy streets of Phuket. Kamala beach row was fun and the hotel vehicle will take you and pick up from Kamala beach. 400 bhat for taxi or tuck tcuK to patong.

Room Tip: Bungalow 1 was great, nice big room for 2 people with a little patio looking at the pool

Thank yo so much for taking the time to write a review on your stay at Royal Embassy Resort.. Really hard to believe it was over a month ago you were here, we have had a really busy December, so I apologize it has taken me so long to reply. I told our main chef, you enjoyed his food and presentation, it really made his day. His nick name is" Lek" which in Thai means small, and he surely is, he is a hippo active man, who works extremely hard, to ensure the meals that he prepares, look and taste 100%
