I stayed there for three weeks in February 2014. I rented penthouse suite.
The rooms are quite big. Little bit worn out already. From the rooftop the view is very good over the buildings to the sea. But daytime rooftop is quite a hot place to be. There is an area with shade though.
Pool is long, if you really want to swim. It is quite narrow, so when there are more people it is quite crowded.
Service is pretty good. They try to be friendly and helpful. But as always English is not their native language, so do not expect too much.
Breakfast was not included in the price. Went there once but it was too expensive and not good enough. In the apartment there is a kitchen so not a problem.
There is a bigger market close by, where you can buy things.
Parking might be tricky, there are few places in the back side of the building, but you can park by the street as well.
Beach is very close. Just few minutes walk. The beach itself is quite good for swimming and sunbathing. For snorkeling it is not interesting enough.
All in all if I go there again, this is very good choice for a place to stay.

Many thanks for posting on TripAdvisor, I am glad that you enjoyed your recent stay. Our Breakfast (which is Buffet Style) is now only 200 Thai Baht (around $6), so hopefully no longer expensive. We are also adding an additional 22 car parking spaces for late 2014. Thanks again for taking the time to comment, we look forward to seeing you here again. Best Regards John Hayward

We had a fantastic stay at the palms in kamala for 10 days in june. The beds were the most comfortable we have experienced at any hotel around the world. Fantastic welcoming staff gave great advice and information to help plan our daily activities and best of all a huge beautiful swimming pool right on our balcony, absolute paradise. We will definately be returning!

The Palms resort was great for my family and myself over the 2 months we rented out.
Clean and serviced with modern facilities. We got a deal at THB45K per month which was somehow reasonable.
One of the swimming pool is very long and shadowed part of the day while the second one provides a full exposure to the sun. Most of the guests would sunbath during the afternoon.
Location is one the main beach road, but the building is a little bit at the back which gives you the best of both (easy access and peace). The small street is very lively with many restaurants and shops... great for families... You can walk to the beach in 2 minutes...
Restaurant downstairs is not fantastic and pizzas (they have their own wood-oven) are pretty dry. I tried breakfast twice but I would definitely not push you to go. Make your own in your room !

Apartment 777 was fantastic. It's quiet, as it's on the end of the block, and it has it's own rooftop jacuzzi. The apartment is clean and modern. Walk out of The Palms, and you have a bustling street with shops, coffee places, restaurants. The beach is over one more street, so very close to walk to. We didn't find the beach particularly clean though and it has blue jellyfish washed up, so we didn't swim at the beach. We didn't need to though as the pools at The Palms are lovely, with comfy sunbeds all around the edge. Would stay again if we found ourselves in Kamala.

Having stayed here for 7 nights recently we were pleasantly surprised. We have a 2 bedroom apartment at the rear which was clean and spacious, very quiet, excellent facilities including full kitchen, two showers with good water pressure and very attentive english speaking staff. The restaurant our front offered a good range of meals including room service charged to your room account as well as alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Proximity to the beach was a major positive as was the range of restaurants available within close walking distance. Very good all around and we will definitely return if the opportunity presents itself

i have been going and staying this resort for 5 days 4 nights, it really clean and i have booked 2 bedroom. and it comes with a kitchen and living hall a balcony. it really spacious. and most importantly clean and new. 100 % good feel of modern. i dun like much of the breakfast just it too simple. bread and sausages. pool is very clean and nice. not much customer when i visited, so it feels like i own the resort. they did airport transfered in reasonable price. like 600 to 700 thai buck if no wrong. bar never open at times. everythg is near to kamala beach. walking distance like 5 mins. and some shopses. around. like a mini neighbour hood. safe and quite in the night, from bangla back to the hotel like 400 buck witch is vey ex like sing dollar almost 20$ ouch.. other than no free shuttle. everythg is very clean and really feel so comfortable in the palm resort. :)

Room Tip: choose a view near to the pool more scenery

Thank you for you nice comments about The Palms Resort, and for taking the time to post on TripAdvisor it is much appreciated. Sorry about the cost of transport to Patong, the tuk tuk's appear to charge whatever they want. We do have our own air conditioned mini bus, which you could have used to go to Patong in, or our new Conceirge Desk could have ordered you a taxi. We look forward to seeing you here again in the future.
