31 Aug '12; back in Sydney after 8 days at Cape Sienna - pure magic! Half hour from airport; very quiet location. From top management to room cleaners, great staff; the best resort we have experienced for R&R. Buildings 2 & 4; great views over Andaman Sea; some rooms have spa on balcony; soft bed overlay (for Westeners); flat screen TV (Aussie and lots of channels); private stereo; free Wi-fi; great a/c (smiling maintenance staff even fixed it when we mucked up switches at 2:00am). Big rooms; separate toilet & shower rooms; big digital safe; Poolside Rest. our favourite, omlettes to order, huge spread, new menus daily; Plum Rest. gourmet at decent prices; Vanilla Sky good music & tapas (photo quality sunsets); Sienna Rocks; private pool; great snooze location; Patong cheap taxi to good shopping; Kamala village 10 minutes walk; 7Eleven; restaurants; shopping. Sienna staff we will book trips, shows, change money; organise outside restaurants - anything! Best value for money in great location. Very safe environment. We will be back !! Win & Trish.

Room Tip: Huge pool and spa; higher floors have wonderful views (we had 2403, very convenient; no stairs); lif...

Cape sienna was one of the nicest hotels we stayed at on our holiday in thailand. although the room is not enormous..it is perfect. Small lounge area, bed and tv, bathroom and separate shower all at a 5 star standard and the most spectacular is the large balcony n the view of the ocean. absolutely breathtaking. waking up every morning to that was very spoilt. service was good..a few hiccups here and there. staff speak veryyy little english and this was abit frustrating. another dissapointment was staying 5 nights and not given a late check out or accomodated to their best ability. our flight was at 7pm so we were stuck on streets till then after cheking out at 12. the hotel pool closes at 7pm also which is really early and abit of a nuisance really. Only used it once as we had alot to do during the day. they also asked us to pick a fragrance for our creams and soaps and then never asked what we chose to put the scent in our room?! Other than that.we had a nice stay

From the moment we were met at the airport by Cape Sienna staff member we knew we were heading to the right place. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, views do die for and the pool over at The Rocks was amazing and hardly ever anyone there. We had no trouble booking the bus to take us to Patong and just asked the day before and that was a great experience too. The smorgasbord dinners were fresh and plentiful and so, so cheap. Yes it isn't as cheap as eating at local places but hey, they don't have 5 star surroundings. The only disappointment was the beach - it was monsoon season but boy that was incredibly dirty so for those of us who love to stroll along the beach that was disappointing but certainly not Cape Sienna's fault. We ate at a great Thai restaurant Chez Ratatouille which was recommended by TRIP ADVISOR and it was certainly a highlight with very cheap, fantastic food. The owner organised a driver for us for the following day for a very reasonable price and he was fantastic too. A few things people have complained about on trip advisor
The blue light from the sound system stays on - put a t shirt over it - no problems and I HATE to sleep with light in the room so t shirt worked well
Taxi mafia - they really aren't that much more expensive, so as someone else has said, either walk the 5mins down the road or pay the extra $3!
There was no language barrier with the reception staff - they were delightful - my husband left something on the plane on our flight over and they chased up- its whereabouts for us with Air Asia. They also printed off our flight itinerary which had come through on our mobile phones and of course we did'nt have a printer with us.
So NO COMPLAINTS whatsover from us for Cape Sienna - a big thank you. Colleen Australia

Room Tip: We paid a bit extra for the bigger double room with the jacuzzi on the balcony but if you are on a b...

Although it has been nearly a year since we stayed at Cape Sienna, I feel confident that you will be assured of an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Cape Sienna, north of Patong, is set in a gorgeous location on the edge of the cliffs, a short 1O minute walk south of the main village/town of Kamala Beach. Initially when booking online, I was wary that the splendour depicted on the website might be a little tired and worn once we arrived. Fortunately my fears were unfounded. Even our arrival was memorable. Reception staff welcomed us with scented tea and we sat enjoying the expansive view while we selected our choice of room scent for our stay {or toiletries, evening candles etc}. We stayed at the cheaper Studio Rooms which were spacious rooms with beautiful modern bathroom facilities. Each morning we would begin our day at the extensive buffet breakfast, which was both a visual and culinary delight. Leisurely breakfasts by the large pool with the backdrop of the Andaman Sea, set us up for more relaxation throughout the day. How much relation can you take! There is WiFi available to the pool area as well as the rooms also. Once you have had enough of lounging around Cape Sienna, it is only a short stroll down the road to the town. In the main street of town you will find a surplus of tailors who politely invite you in to their shops {no heavy harassment}, bars or a variety of Therapeutic Thai massage parlours {There is a very good at the southern end of the main street} or you can wander through the park that has the memorial to the Tsunami victims and stroll along the beachfront where you will find a great selection of tent restaurants and market stalls. Each night we would stroll home, to find sweet good night notes from the staff and flowers in our freshly scented room. Little touches of bliss. We enjoyed Cape Sienna as much as we enjoyed our stay at Bangtao Bay {see my other review} even though they were at the opposite ends of the style spectrum. We hope to stay at Cape Sienna again.

Room Tip: If you don't like stairs ask for a room on the same level as the breakfast and pool area. (there...

First we arrived in Patong, we stayed in another hotel for 4 days, and the last day we moved to Cape Sienna. When we're check in, the check in time at 3 pm. And we must waited for a long enough time. Then receptionist asked us to choose the fragrance that will be used for lotion, body foam, shampoo and conditioner in our room. And i chose Refreshing Fragrance, i like that smell.. Then the lobby is surrounded by the Andaman Sea view, stunning! And we chose Sea view room that we can enjoyed an ocean view in front of our room. The services was very good, and friendly staff. A great pool, and also we can enjoyed the sunset and sunrise or sunbathing in Sienna rock, that provided pool, also. The restaurant served a delicious breakfast, but for lunch it takes a quite long time to waited our food delivered. Then before we check out, i tried an Indulgence Sienna massage, and my hubby tried a Thai massage. It was soooooooo fantastic!! So relaxing..
But the airport transfer services didn't available anytime, only for few times a day. So we had called taxi, and the price is THB 800 to go to the airport, so pricey... Overall, we really enjoyed stayed in Cape Sienna. We would like to ga back here if we go to Thai. Love it!

The Cape Sienna is away from all the hustle and bustle, but there’s a beach with restaurants just a few minutes down the road (a bit of an uphill climb on the way back, but not strenuous unless you are really out of shape). The view from the lobby is breathtaking and the pool was the best I encountered during my stay in Thailand (out of 4 hotels). There are some power lines in view from the lower floors so if this is likely to bother you, perhaps an upgrade to the higher floors is in order. I didn’t notice it after the first few minutes. The breakfast was also the best of my trip, especially the homemade frozen yogurt with granola and nuts at the bottom. If you don’t feel like going out at night you can borrow a movie from the lobby shop to watch in your room (not the best selection, but a nice service to have).

Room Tip: higher rooms avoid any chance of seeing the power lines
