The apartment: The apartment is quite spacious and has two bedrooms. One bedroom faces the pool and is well lit but the other bedroom curtains cannot be opened as it opens into the corridor. The apartment has a full kitchen, washer, iron etc. The living room opens into the pool which is lovely. Only issue is if you keep the door/windows open mosquitoes come in.
There is no drinking water in the apartment and had to be bought from a shop near by but it wasnt very expensive (40 Bhat for 5 litres)
also we faced some issue with cleaning. We were told that cleaning will be done after every one day but the facilities manager had to be told everytime and she would look very disgruntled. In fact two times she refused to clean get it cleaned after a day's gap and got it cleaned after 3 days and that too after requesting her mutliple times
The location: Location is really good. There are lots of eating places right across and the beach is also 5 mins walk away
The beach: The beach is very clean and good for kids.
There is a Taxi stand close by Where there is Mr Tiwa who took us around in his Pajero around Phuket at a very reasonable cost.

Overall a great experience and would highly recommend staying in this apartment. I would have rated the apartment 5 stars but rated it 4 only because of cleaning issues and drinking water not being available inside the apartment.

“Private and quiet, yet minutes away from the beach - It's the perfect place in Kamala”
Reviewed 29 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

The Palms is a fabulous place and this one is the best out of all of the units. This is an end unit, which is surrounded by water (pool) on both sides; it feels like your living on a small island with plenty of natural light. You are literally just 2 steps from the pool, which is shallow enough for safety, if you have kids, and a great way to cool off whenever the feeling strikes you.

The unit has a patio where you can sip your drink, or morning coffee, while dipping your feet in the refreshing pool, and the 20' high wall of thick bamboo and palm trees on the property, not only gives it a beautiful tropical feeling, the vegetation blocks out all sounds from the small street. This unit is immaculately clean with just the right amount of tastefully selected furniture and art pieces to give it a very homey feeling. The kitchen is fully equipped and even has a washing machine and all appliances you will ever need.

The Palms is perfectly located, with the beach, 7-11's, plenty of Thai and Western restaurants, tour agents, currency exchanges, ATMs, massages studios, all just a few minutes walk away. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we highly recommend this place.

“A lovely appartment in a great location”

This is a lovely two bed apartment in a well managed small complex. The rooms are well furnished and being able to step directly into the small pool is a real luxury. The location is convenient for both the beach and local restaurants. The resort is very suitable for younger families and those who want to a relaxed beach holiday away from the crowds.

- 1 min walking distance to beach even though Kamala beach is not so beauty
- room are clean and big
- staff are kind and warm
- only downsize is master bed room Air con was not working and maintenance respond was too slow in fact it is still spoil till we check out.
- that will be very bad if the room is at full capacity (5prs)
- Hope it will rectify ASAP and best is to have monthly maintenance
- so that customers will not needed to wait for repair.
- As Phuket has hot climate bad Air conditioning will make really upset to customers
- anyway nice place to stay and quite
- fair price and good facilities

Management Response
15 May 2016
Hi Kelvin Aung
I am glad you liked the apartment and the staff treated you well.
I am very sorry about the aircon problem and I am sorry that the maintenance response was not adequate. If you had contacted myself directly I could have responded promptly to the issue. A new aircon is being installed ready for the next guest.
kind regards
Tony

“A central location for a Kamala stay”
Reviewed 12 March 2016 for a stay in December 2015

LOCATION: Being in the middle of the main beach street in Kamala this property is in a perfect location to walk to most restaurants, markets and the beach.

APARTMENT: The apartment is located on the ground floor, on a corner. It is 2 bedroom, with a good sized living and dining area.
The furniture is in good condition and comfortable.
The master bedroom has a large bed with quite a lot of space for cases, as well as wardrobe space to hang clothing.
Curtains are blackout which is terrific for those who like a sleep in.

The 2nd bedroom has a bunk bed (2 beds) as well as a separate single bed, and also has wardrobe space. The only downside to this room is that the window looks straight onto the pathway outside leading to the lift and stairs to the upper floor, so not a lot of privacy if the blinds are open.
On the issue of privacy we stayed during peak season, and the complex was quite full. One of the main access points for the pool is directly in front of the apartment, and as a result we had people outside our room all day and night often looking in, and even had some children standing on our balcony using it as a diving board, at other times of the year this may not be an issue at all.
Above us was a family with 2 young children, and the noise from them running around was fairly constant, so just be aware that noise insulation isn’t great, again this largely depends on who you get staying above you, and is no fault of the owner.

The kitchen has all of the appliances you would expect to find, as well as a washing machine which we found really handy.

BATHROOMS: There are 2 bathrooms, a main bathroom and ensuite to the master bedroom, both bathrooms are a decent size with good storage space for amenities. Water pressure was good.

TV/INTERNET: TV worked well, internet was dreadful, there are days it didn’t work at all. Again, could be a result of high season.

CLEANLINESS: The apartment was very clean, and part way through our stay the apartment was cleaned again.
The walls in the master bedroom are starting to show their age with water damage to the skirting boards and walls around the windows, again no fault of the owner.

OVERALL: If you’re staying in Kamala the Palms is a great location, just be aware that in peak season you may not have much privacy and might get noise from above.
Tony, the owner is very prompt with replies, helpful and friendly.

Dear Gounta, I am sorry that other guests disturbed the tranquility of your stay at The Palms. we have not had previous complaints of noise from the apartment above so the upstairs guests must have been particularly unruly. The internet provider has recently been changed and I understand that the connectivity is now much improved.

“Walk to the Beach”

We stayed 3 nights at the Palms in Feburary mainly because of the close location to the Kamala Beach and the ease of arrangement made through TripAdvisor. The owner Tony was easy to communicate with and he also made arrangements for a 3am pickup at the airport. Apartment was very clean and comfortable with a multiple shared pools right outside the door. The kitchen, which we never used was a nice addition to the place. The only negative that we experienced was the shower handle broke and the in house maintenance staff was slow to repair it( not the owners fault).Short walk to shopping and the beach was the best as well as the tour booking agent in the lobby who arranged for our tours and answered all of our questions. Good place to stay in Kamela!
