Reviewed 14 July 2014

I have been recommended by the hotel to visit Phuket Fanta sea show; It is one of the best show I ever seen. Area is gorgeous and beautiful. Fanta sea show is the combination of huge no. of elephant activities, 3 D, Circus, Laser show etc are all together in one place. stage are changing very efficiently without any remarkable delay. it's really owe-some. If I miss this show, obviously my Phuket tour might be incomplete.

“When in Phuket....”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

When in Rome... So in Thailand we went to see the elephant show. I was a little worried as I wasn't sure what to expect of these poor elephants.

What I can say is that the show was a little expensive but having said that, the place was air conditioned and the elephants didn't require much prodding to do the tricks. They actually appeared happy.

It was strictly no cameras. If you wanted pics, you had to buy the pictures.

The show was good and worth seeing for the experience. If I went back, I probably would give the show a miss and go visit my favorite bar at patong!

“Getting shorter and shorter”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

Buffet was OK. Nothing special.
Show seems to be shorter. Only 60 minutes now. Takes about 20 minutes to get to your seats after all the security checks and queing. Be warned NO mobile phones !! Leave them at the hotel. I refused to give mine in and after a little discussion they agreed for me to take out the battery. Gold seat holder.
Que at the other end for getting back phones looked rather long!!
Show has lost alot of its 'wow' but the chickens, buffalos and doves still steal the show... Elephants, well a spectacular here!
If you have been before, you might be dissappointed but for the first time visitor still a must see...

“Fantastic show, decent dinner and fun activities”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

For anyone visiting Phuket, Fantasea should be a 'must-do' on your list. Basically, a grand broadway style show highlighting Thai culture and tradition, Fantasea has the flamboyance and grandiose of a spectacular show. The 1-hour show starts at 9 pm but to enjoy it to the fullest it is recommended to reach the place by 6pm so that you can see and experience other attractions and activities on its mini theme-park styled sprawling property, before the actual show starts.

Activities: The place is divided into small sections and though most of it are about shops selling over-priced merchandise or expensive photo opportunities (like feeding milk to tiger cubs, dressing up like Thai royalty, etc), kids would enjoy attractions like feeding the colourful fish or seeing the White Tiger. The elephant rides are pretty expensive at 900 baht/person and attract more European tourists than Asian (where elephants are common) but feeding the elephant at 70 baht is more fun.

Dinner: The dinner hall accommodates thousands of tourists and I must say they know their target audience pretty well. While it has the regular Thai cuisine, we were pleasantly surprised to find a separate Indian corner with vegetarian option as well made by Delhi chefs. The food was decent enough and the dinner was well-managed with each group having a dedicated table for them, thereby avoiding commotion and giving everyone space.

The show: The huge auditorium 'Palace of the Elephants' where the show happens boasts of good sound and lighting effects. The show narrates some Thai folk tale which might occasionally seem a little boring if you are unable to relate to it. But the folklore is interspersed with interesting elements like a magic show. My favourite was the aerial act which is performed in the middle of the auditorium as acrobats in florescent costumes dance in the dark above your head. Then there is the apt grand finale with 16 elephants performing stunts for the live audience, like its a grander version of some Russian circus.

Overall an experience you will take back home for sure. Fantastic!

I was amazed at how gorgeous the park is, with all it's lights and amazing buildings. We arrived at around 6pm and had a little look around before we headed in for the buffet. Found the buffet to be very organised and enjoyed the meal. I thought the show was very entertaining and well done. The only issue was the seating was a little cramped. I think I would of had a problem if I was taller, not a lot of leg room. Other wise the air-conditioning was nice :)
