There's on old part and a new part of this hotel. Be sure to get a room in the new part. Theold rooms stinks of mould and the so called balconys is an area of vegetation that's impossible to use because of the mosquitos. If you have a problem with something broken in the room, which we had all the time both in the new and old part, the staff don't speak english so it's very hard geting them to understand.

I stayed at this resort with my 9 yr old son from 12 Nov 11. this was our second trip to Phuket but we have never been to Kamala before. We stayed in the garden bungalow #1 which to be perfectly honest, needed some work. Screen door didnt stay closed, wardrobe door fell off (It was a big old wooden door), noisy but effective air con and our shower head broke off too. BUT - the staff dealt with all problems quickly and repaired all but the screen door when requested. these bungalows are rustic, need upgrading but are OK if you want a resort experience on a budget. The resort was better than these rooms might indicate. Pool was fabulous, newer rooms overlooking the pool were modern, the pool access rooms opened onto a quiet but 'cool' pool area. Staff were good, some better than others and we were grateful for one staff member who sat with my son for a while when he was ill so i could go up to the pharmacy. She was lovely and caring. Good games room with pool table, great breakfast, well equipped gym if you're into that, entertainment most nights. the best feature is the fabulous location, almost beachfront (across the road and the park) without the beachfront price tag. Kamala is a lovely village with some lovely people on the beach to look after you. We loved it and will be back although would book a pool view room next time. NOTE to management - spend a few hundred thousand baht on the bungalows and they could be sold as luxurious villas.

We were staying at a smaller, much cheaper and CLEANER boutique guesthouse in Kamala but were not able to extend our stay last minute as all the rooms were booked. We decided to try the Print as we had walked by it a few times and it seemed nice. From other reviews it seems the poolside rooms are much more updated (built after tsunami in 2004) and better quality than the garden view bungalows which we paid 2400 baht/ night for (november 2011).Big letdown. They should not even be allowed to rent these. There are cracks in the wall, some so big that geckos run and disappear into them. The air con is old and hardly works. There is a moldy smell in the whole place and the bathroom is makeshift-no door on shower and really close to the toilet so water sprays all over the bathroom no matter how careful you are. We woke up both nights with what sounded like scratching on windows. The second night we figured out what it was- most likely geckos or some other creature running through the walls of the place. I can't comment on the newer part of the hotel and it must be nicer but the garden bungalows should be condemned. If you want a cheaper room with the nice resort amenities near a nice beach and are having a hard time finding one in Kamala ( small beach town fewer options...and the beach is not any prettier) just stay at another beach like Kata or pay the extra 500-600 baht to stay at a real resort in Kamala like sunprime.

Stayed here as a result of some dodgey cheap time share offer, 1 week's accommodation for virtually pennies if you attend a 90 minute presentation (at another hotel). Didn't buy the time share but have gone back to this hotel since. Beautifully decorated rooms, comfortable balconies overlooking the pool, friendly/helpful staff with just enough English and everything you need (including beach, pharmacy, 7-eleven and laundry) within an easy walk. Great for couples as Kamala is much quieter than Patong and still has a number of great restaurants (especially Rockfish up the hill at the Southern end of the beach) and some friendly bars and the ubiquitous Thai tailors but without the sleeziness of Patong which you can visit and leave by taxi or tuk tuk cheaply.

Room Tip: In our experience absolutely unnecessary to upgrade.

Have been there in June (low season) with my girlfriend. We have got a very cheap room for around 1300 baht per night with breakfast included. The hotel is located just next to the Beach in Ban Kamala. The room was in the main building with pool view. There is a less than one minute walk to the beach :). It was a very clean and big room. The breakfast is awesome! Never seen before, so much variety in cereals, individual egg, juices, bread.. just gorgeous!

I'm sure I will come back next year :)

Room Tip: The main buildings near the pool, the small bungalows can be far away from anything :)

We stayed at Print Kamala from 11th September for a week, and what a great hotel. It's within easy reach of everything and the staff were very helpful. Stay in the rooms overlooking the pool for the best position. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Wonderful position for getting to the beach, and the great restaurants nearby. The pool area is great with a good swim-up bar. We will be back, as Kamala has everything that Patong has without the crowds.

If you are going to Phuket to relax and unwind on a budget, this hotel is ideal and was a very pleasant surprise considering how cheap accommodation was. It is about a 20-30 minute drive from the Patong Town, where most tourists frequent.

Room was great, very comfortable, they upgraded us to a ocean view room upon arrival which had a balcony overlooking the ocean. The beach is right across the road and a 7/11, two minutes down the street. Breakfast was good, don’t expect a large variety, but you get what you pay for. The pool was great with a bar in the middle and as there is not much tourist traffic in Kamala, we usually had the pool and bar to ourselves.

We hired a taxi diver for a day for about $1000 Bhat (about $20AUD) and he drove us around and waited for us while we explored, shopped and ate. If you decide to do this, be aware that drivers get commissions for bring tourist to particular places =( just make sure you tell the driver exactly what you want to do and that usually works.

About 5 minutes drive from the Print, there is a fantastic restaurant that sits on literally on the edge of the cliff. It’s easy to miss since the entrance is small hut, but you’ll be lead down some steps to an overwhelming surprise – and lobster for around $40! Ask the locals or a driver if you are unsure where it is.

If you are wanting to party and experience the night life in Phuket, then stay at Patong, but if you are after a quiet trip with the chance to experience the real Thailand, then opt for other wonderfully, peaceful places like Kamala and the Print Hotel.
