Unfortunately, for the 4 nights I spent here with my boyfriend I was quite ill. I had just been on a drip at the nearby doctor on the mainland (who was great!) so spent most of my time inside the chalet! Quite a few creatures were around, mainly geckos and we had a big problem with ants on the first night where hundreds of them got into my backpack but we sorted it out and never saw them again. Restaurant doesn't open until 8pm at night for dinner which was a bit annoying but we just went elsewhere. Beach was nice but we were unlucky with it being cloudy most of the time we were there. I can't comment on the quality of the food as I was unable to eat much but my boyfriend said it was good. It wasn't overly cheap and the shower was cold but you were literally opening your doors onto a great beach so that is what you are paying for. Plus nothing is very cheap on the perhentians.
