This hotel was a most pleasant surprise!! The view was amazing especially fro the beautiful zero line pool!! Lots of steps but worth the trek! Our most favorite treat was the howler monkeys in the evening while having dinner in the restaurant. Beautiful place to stay!

Pro: nice view and nice and modern room. The owner put a lots of works and effort into this hotel. Food are very good.
Con: Very far from the San Jose International airport. The driver that they recommended does not speak English at all. The vehicle that he used is not up to the safety standard and it broke down on our way back to airport. Fortunately we left hotel early in the morning ( 5:30 am) and able to catch our flight back to Canada.

After couple of busy days, we stayed at Vista las Islas. The view by itself makes it worth your while. It's breathtaking.

The bungalows are spacious and have everything you need. Wifi is a little tricky, only in the reastaurant area and even there its not very strong. Our TV didn't work too (but who cares; you're in Costa Rica!).

Try a Mojito at the poolside, life doesn't get any better.

This hotel is atop a mountain and has some of the most stunning views I have ever seen. I literally gasped when we walked to the hotel office. We picked this hotel because of the night bioluminescence kayaking tour that they are affiliated with and boy am I glad. The rooms are located on the side of the mountain so they have amazing views but it could be difficult for someone with movement issues. There are lots of steep ramps and and stairs. There is a beautiful infinity pool and the sunset was so stellar you couldn't help but stare. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. One of the staff members actually went on the kayaking tour with us as she had not done it. It was a delight to share this experience with her. I can't recommend that tour enough. Upon our returning the staff kept the restaurant open late for us. The menu was small but with enough variety and the food was ridiculously delicious. There were lots of other tour options that we would have done had we had more time. The room was air conditioned, clean with hot showers. The decor was beautiful and the view from our balcony was also amazing. My only complaint is the amount of bugs. There were A LOT of one particular insect and they were everywhere including in the room. I think this is understandable considering the remote location of the hotel but it still wasn't particularly pleasant. The view alone made this insect issue worth it.

This hotel was like an oasis after driving forever with no where planned to stay. Saw signs and said we are going there! It was a bumpy road and really steep, but wow, we were blown away! So amazing and calming. Wished we stayed longer.

I havent even left yet and I am already disappointed that we are not staying here for the remainder of our vacation. This was just a pass through point on our way to our final destination but I dont want to leave. Secluded villas, inviting pool with scenic views.

While the restaurant is wonderful, I would recommend grabbing some snacks and beverages for in the room. I tend to eat at off hours and it is definitely a more remote location, which I love. Plenty of resources within a short drive.

We will be back.

Stayed here for 2 nights en route to Cabuya. A beautiful setting amidst jungle scenery. Loved waking to the sound of howler monkeys before taking a dip in the pool. The views were spectacular. The restaurant does some lovely simple food all made with local produce. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. :)
