“3 night stay in February”
Reviewed 21 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

An idyllic, peaceful little cottage in the quiet village of Parwich. We stayed for a short 3 night break and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage. Amazing organisation on behalf of the owners who had the cottage spotless, and welcomed us with cookies, fresh cleaning products and a heaped basket of logs and coal ready for the two fires. We adored the layout of the cottage and the sky lights in the attic bedroom. The new bathroom was stunning and the other rooms had been made cosy and friendly. We also used the bikes in the shed, one had a slightly flat tyre but all supplies were available in the shed. We visited Ashbourne, Bakewell and Casington Water during our visit all within a short driving distance. We would definitely revisit, possibly in a warmer season! Thank you so much x

“Lovely cottage - if somewhat cold (in arctic outside temperatures!)”

I grew up in Parwich and had a short stay in Farm View Cottage while visiting my 92 year old dad. It's a lovely place to stay for 2. Everything you need is provided with fires laid ready to light on arrival. We never did get 'cosy' though, despite having great fun with the log burning stove and open fire! It was VERY cold outside ....The only warm room was the luxurious bathroom (very much enjoyed). We don't particularly mind the cold, so it didn't spoil our stay. Jo, the manager, welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Thanks for your review and pleased that you enjoyed the Cottage but very surprised that you were cold.
Farm View is always warm and cosy even in the coldest conditions. Obviously you had a problem maybe with operation of the stove or some damp logs. Anyway sorry that you did not experience the normal warmth.

“Fantastic Quiet Christmas Break”

We stayed over the Christmas period and had a fantastic week in this charming village and well equipped cottage. While it was very cold during our stay the cottae was warm and welcoming on arrival and the log burner in the kitchen and coal fire in the living room ensured we stayed warm throughout our stay. We cooked a full Christmas dinner for the 2 of us (and the dog) in the kitchen so we can happily say that it all works brilliantly and is very well equipped (if you can't find the roasting trays they are in the grill section of the oven!). At night the bed was comfy and the electric blanket a godsend at this time of year.

Parwich is a beautiful village with fantastic walks from the door of the cottage and we would love to do more of them. The locals are all friendly and welcoming and we cannot wait to return, both to the cottage and the village. Being only 7 miles from Ashbourne as well is a huge bonus if you want to eat in a lot as it has a Waitrose, Sainsburys and a big M&S Food all within an easy drive.

Thanks very much for your review and really pleased that you enjoyed the cottage. Sorry about the log burner as the cottage is so cosy when it is working well. We are surprised if there is a problem with the door seal as the stove was serviced only 4 weeks ago. Perhaps the door needs adjustment which is very easy. We shall get it checked.

“Cosy and relaxed”
Reviewed 13 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Stayed in Farm view cottage for a weeks rest and relaxation. Comfortable property with everything required. Lovely open fires, well equipped kitchen, a pub 2 minutes walk and such a peaceful location. The bathroom is luxury !
We walked around the village, went to Ashbourne, Matlock and Wirksworth for shopping and browsing, great vintage and antique shops. Reccomend the candle shop in TIssington.
We love the area and came home feeling like we had really recharged ready for Winter.
