Crowded with many food stalls selling good local fare, I would recommend this location if you want to experience Taiwan's great eats. The well known stalls are very popular - so pick the ones with queues and you won't go wrong. On the way to this market, we chanced upon a street side restaurant selling Japanese style food off food trolleys. This was also excellent.

There are nice food to be found here. Not much shopping available here though. Worth a visit if you are looking for good food.

We visited the major nightmarkets in Taipei over our 10 days stay in Taiwan. Shihlin, Shida, Raohe and this is the best one for food. Its very small with two front to front stalls over a short stretch of road and a stretch of shops just behind it. Its a nice place ro eat without being shoved and pushed around and you can get Taiwans famous food and snacks here. My personal favourite is the lu rou fan in Formosa Chang (shop with a bearded man symbol) and beef noodle (about 5 to 8 shops beside Formosa Chang). One stop for all the best food in Taipei.

There are not more than two of any type of food, which is enough to pick which one looks best, but allows you to eat something different every night. Try the 'small intestines inside big intestines'. Yum. The fruit milk shakes here are also well priced. Try avocado or papaya.
