The location is quite near the station and the room was clean and new. However, we left a mobile phone in the room by accident one morning and when we returned at the end of the day it was missing. The front desk staff were not very helpful. They told us that they would check the next day but only made a record of it when we asked them to. They have no security officer. The floor supervisor assured us that she didn’t see the phone but the hotel was reluctant to issue a statement. We had to persuade them. It was quite a strange and mysterious incident.

Stayed two nights (Fri & Sat) while costing Taroko Gorge.
It is an easy 5 minute walk from the train station, great air conditioning, very friendly and helpful staff, bikes to loan for free, a nice breakfast and nice rooms.
The room was larger than I expected, with a nice bath, tub and separate shower. The bed was a bit on the form side but quite comfortable. Everything looked clean and in good shape.
I would definitely stay here again.
Scooter rentals across from the train station are a 5 minute walk as well. We rented scooters to visit the Gorge and I think it is the only way to go. About 45 minutes from the hotel the park headquarters. Highway 9 has dedicated scooter and bike lane the whole way.

We had arranged to stay 2 nights but had to leave an night earlier as the road from Hualien to Taipei was closed due to a landslide.
Room was fine, breakfast not great, staff friendly enough but spoke little English. Free parking which was good as we had hired a car. Free bikes, did not get a chance to use them.
Vised the Taroko Gorge from hotel by car whcich I would recommend. Didn't get to see much of Hualien.

It's an average 4 star hotel, it would be a good 3 star place, I guess. However, it's quiet, clean and reasonably situated. it has a free parking, which we used. Breakfast is pretty variable but could be better, if they use better quality products. They offer free bikes but we had no time to use them. Receptionists could speak English but their knowledge was limited. Not a place to remember, but fine, especially if you find a good deal.

Spent one night here and used it as a base to travel to Taroko Gorge. Location was close being less than 5 minutes to station and near bus stop to Taroko. Room was very clean and comfortable and a decent size. Only negative is a lack of information about other things in Hualien downtown area provided by front desk staff. Would happily stay here again.
