It was our first time for a trip to Jiu Fen, arrived pretty late around 8pm. By the time of our checking-in, the shops and stalls were nearly closed. The host uncle was so enthusiastic to help us catch up the nice night views of the old street, by driving us to the entrance up along the ridge road. We didn't miss anything. He was so caring about not allowing us missing any beauty just like it was his son's first trip to Jiu Fen. Can u find any feeling like home in a hotel somewhere else? I believe we are coming back to this homelike place, if any more chance back Jiu Fen.

We took the family room and added 1 extra bed on the ground floor. There were still space to walk around in the room with the extra bed.
The hosts were warm and friendly and eager to share information on nearby attractions.
The breakfasts prepared by the lady host and taken outside the homestay were yummy and delicious and we get to enjoy the seaview while taking the breakfasts.
They have a pet cat which my girl enjoyed playing with.
But pls take note the homestay is at the foot of jiufen, so walking up the stairs to Jiufen might be tedious for the elderly and young children or if you have any strollers. Another alternative is to take the bus outside the convenience store to the top of Jiufen and walk down from there.
Overall, it was a good experience and the hosts were extremely hospitable. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights stay there.

I had an enjoyable 2-day stay with my family at this b&b.

The hosts were welcoming and friendly, taking effort to make conversations with you and trying their best to help out, be it making arrangement for driver or ideas of where to go.
The major plus point of this b&b, is the view that you get to enjoy. Each morning, you get to be woken up by the sound of birds chirping, if you leave your windows open (cos the windows were double glass). And you instantly wake up in a good and relaxed mood.

There's a dining area outside the house; tables under several huge umbrellas.
I forgot to mention that there were a couple of banyan trees which the owner said was a few hundred years old providing shade for the dining area. So each morning, you will get to enjoy an unblocked view of the sea (sorry, I don't know which sea that is) and keelung mountain (I think), with breeze and shade. VERY refreshing.

Location wise, the B&B is located at the foot of the famous jiufen shopping area. Climbing up the main shopping area is no joke. Got to be relatively fit and mobile for this. But at least you can get a cab to bring you to the B&B and not lug your luggage around on jiufen mountain. I found out much later from our driver that we could potentially not climb all the way up to the shopping area (aka the famous ah mei tea house). We could have taken a bus/ cab from the police station, so we end up at the "famous" convenience store where everyone gets off to get to the shopping area. Then again, you can try to get a cab to get you from the B&B instead.

Despite staying there for 2 nights, I didn't get to have much down-time in the B&B as my itinerary was quite packed. I would love to visit again and do nothing but sit at the bean swing that hangs from one of banyan trees, enjoy the breeze and view with a book. :)
