This place is for travellers who want to pay as little for a decent bed and room. Staff are friendly and helpful. When we checked out, luggages were left with them in a storeroom and returned to us without problems!

Very near to the train station and the red house. Surrounding area is very vibrant and full of life and shopping!

One slight issue was that we turned off the fridge one day, came back and found the floor wet as the ice from the fridge had melted. Staff were quick to mop it up for us.

Also, our room had no window, so if you're clastrophobic, this might not be suitable for you.

Getting there: From Ximen Station Exit 6, you will see Watsons up ahead in front of you when you exit the station. Walk around Watsons with it being on your right, and then turn right into the first small lane (Lane 27). Good9Stay Inn is up ahead on your left.

Service: The staff at Good9Stay Inn are extremely polite and friendly, and ever ready to offer you help or advice, marking out landmarks on the map they provide, etc. They always greeted and smiled, sometimes making small talk as well. very homey and friendly indeed. security was good as there was always someone at the reception throughout the day.

Room: Stayed here for 4 nights. room was small and just enough space to open 1 suitcase and still have walking space. there was a good choice of cable tv available. the hot & cold water dispenser was available in the common corridor for hotel guests. The bathroom was of a considerably good size compared to the room, but we appreciated having that extra space in the bathroom. toothbrushes were provided and there was a soap dispenser too. Aircon was perfectly cold but perhaps cuz the room was small.

Surroundings: Ah Zong Mee Sua is just around the corner. Downstairs Good9Stay Inn there is a '89 Shop' that supposedly is really popular selling makeup etc beauty products, and is also the online distributor for these beauty stuff on websites (??) something like that. anyways, 'Lao Tian Lu' along Chengdu Road nearby is famous for braised stuff which you can also vacuum-pack to bring it home on a flight (e.g. duck tongue, duck wings, etc).

Overall, would definitely stay again. location is great, price is reasonable, felt very comfortable.
Note: Not for people expecting hotel-style rooms/decor.

I stayed here for 5 days in Taipei. My favourite thing about the place was the front desk staff. They were SO helpful and friendly. If you have any questions about what to do during your stay, ask them! They really go above and beyond with great suggestions and tips! They helped to try to get us last minute tickets to the south by surfing the net and calling the airport.

The room was great for a 3 star hotel. Clean, beds were really comfy, nice flat screen tv and a spacious bathroom. Also, the air con was glorious!

The area has lots of shopping and restaurants. Though not much of a selection of local Taiwanese food.

You can take a shuttle bus from another hotel just down the street. It costs on $140 Taiwan dollars.

The hotel is right in the middle of vibrant and exciting Ximending. There are lots of restaurants, shops and live entertainment outside. This place has a great atmosphere and I really enjoyed staying there.

The best thing about this hotel is the friendly staff, especially 'Steve-O'. He went above and beyond what was required of him to help us plan and research our trips in Taipei and around Taiwan. He hooked us up with good deals and gave us a lot of good travel suggestions and tips. I hesitate slightly to write this review because it'll probably create extra work for him. He's awesome and our Taiwan trip would not have been as successful if it wasn't for him. He definitely earned the gift and tip we gave him at the end of our stay.

The rooms are not particularly fancy but I only need it to be clean and tidy (which it was). It was also pretty good value and it's only one station away from Taipei Main Station.

Room Tip: Best to get a room with it's own bathroom. AC is a must for the summer months.
