Weather conditions can have a big impact on this road and also the other road users can make it particularly dangerous from time to time. Especially when you’re on a motorcycle you should be aware of trucks. To see the Qingshui cliff you’ll use Su-Hua highway. There are several parkings so you can enjoy the wonderful view. Despite the possible thrilling moments on the way, it’s definitely worth to see it’s stunning scenery.

Parking is horrible along this route. The views are nice but access to the beaches is very limited. Recommend traveling this on work days to avoid the crowds if you can.

What a beautiful coastal road.
The scenery is stunning and rugged. Difficult to believe that this is not far from Taipei!

Hiked a short stretch of the highway from the Chongde Station up to the Qingshui Cliff view deck. It was a dangerous walk but nonetheless the view of the sea to one side and the cliffs on the other side is worth it!

Scenic costal highway linking Hualien and Yilan. Windy mountainous route. Requires good driving skills. Avoid this road during bad weather due to risks of rock falls and also landslides. Towards Yilan side, there's a memorial site to remember those that perished when a tour bus crashed down the slopes into the ocean below several years ago.

One side is the steep slopes of the mountains, the other side is the vast Pacific Ocean down the horizon. Intense blue waters. Several lookout points along the way to stop the car and get some nice photos.
