We stayed here whilst attending a friend's birthday celebration (held in a private dining room in the Pub). The facilities were excellent and staff could not have been more helpful. The room had plenty of space and was equipped with TV, Tea making facilities, easy chairs and two folding patio chairs to enjoy the garden in better weather. An umbrela was provided for the walk to the pub (no more than 50 yards) in case of rain. The en-suite was well equipped and decent quality shower gel / soap was provided. The water was always hot with plenty of clean towels.

Room Tip: There are only 3 rooms, we had the double. There is a twin and a family room also but our room coul...

Just stayed one night as friends were getting married in a neighbouring village. We were running a little behind schedule, so when we arrived we immediately asked the owner for the number of the nearest taxi firm. The response we got was 'the taxis aren't that great around here, but jump in I'll take you!'. Really above and beyond what you would expect. The rooms are really nice as well, and the pub has lots of character (but unfortunately we didn't have chance to stay for a pint). A really nice place, run by really lovely people. Would highly recommend.

This is a little spot of Heaven tucked away in Suffolk. Close to Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, so an ideal base for day trips. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable bed, large bathroom. Doors open out to a large garden area where early morning and twilight, rabbits, squirrells and abundant bird life amass. Our host Debbie was very welcoming. Breakfast was freshly cooked at a time suitable for you, with a choice of cereals, yoghurt or the full english with tea/coffee and toast. The Inn also boasts a restaurant where we ate on the first night. The food was very good and reasonably priced. I would recommend use of a sat nav for getting about as set in a miriad of country lanes and would be very easy to get lost, but this all adds to the charm.
Would definitely return.

On arrival at the chequers we were made to feel very welcome by the lovely owners. The accommodation is lovely, set back away from the pub in beautiful gardens with a river running along the bottom. We were allowed a late check out as they had no one else checking in to our room the next day, they also made us an amazing fry up! We Really enjoyed our stay at the chequers- really lovely friendly people, they made our stay one to remember.

rooms are tucked away from pub and overlook river with busy local wildlife, fab location to visit surrounding suffolk attractions (aldeburgh and orford short drive away). Friendly hosts. PS: Rolls Royce parked in the grounds is eccentric!

We stayed in a double room which was very comfortable and very smart. The hosts Debbie and Ron were such nice people that you just feel that you want to return again soon. The breakfast was excellent, we also booked and had our evening meal in the pub resturant which was also very good indeed.
There are many places to visit within a short drive. We visited Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Snape Maltings, Framlingham Castle and Parham Air Museum which is open on Sundays. I can recomend all these places to visit but of course we all like different things.
