We stayed here, two adults and two teenagers, for three nights in August as part of a 15 day stay in South Africa. The location is superb, with amazing views of the forest and within easy reach of an abundance of activities. Our rooms were beautiful, spacious, warm and with the same wonderful views. We eat in every night, having excellent food and drink, and really enjoyed the communal dining with fellow travellers.
My teenage son did the bungee jump at Boukrans, a short 15 minute drive away. Other highlights were Monkeyworld (although the monkeys at Hog Hollow are entertaining enough!), and also the Cheetah experience at Tanikwa.
As with most places we stayed in South Africa, the staff were warm, welcoming, and keen to help in any way they could. A wonderful place to stay.

We spent four wonderful nights at Hog Hollow and loved every minute. It is a great base for exploring the local area, there is so much to do we could have stayed a week! We watched the whales in nearby Plettenberg Bay, walked along the Robberg peninsula and vistied some of the main attractions in The Crags. Hog Hollow was such a wonderful place to stay on the Garden Route we just can't wait to go back again. The staff were so lovely which helped create such a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent and we had great fun in the evenings around the fire chatting to the other guests. Hog Hollow really is a gem of a place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for Room 17 as the view is just amazing!

I am a tour operator based in Cape Town and went to do a site inspection of Hogs Hollow to make sure I was 100% happy with this venue for my clients who are based throughout the world. I was totally blown away by this stunning venue, the service was outstanding and whole look and feel was top class. I will definately be encouraging my clients to spend a few nights at this venue if they are traveling on the Garden Route - highly recommneded. Kind regards Kirsty Gordon (Timeless Africa Safaris - Cape Town South Africa)

From the moment we arrived we felt really well treated. Accommodation and catering were of a very good standard. The views from communal areas and our own cabin balcony were stunning.

Great hotel. Food fantastic. Staff really helpful. Felt as though we were staying with friends. Great place to have a beer on the terrace around the fire at the end of a day doing lots of activities nearby.

I have now been in this business for over 10 years and have over that time been privileged to visit a number of wonderful properties with my husband Barry. His comment when we arrived at the Villa was (and I quote verbatim !!) “ Wow – now we have arrived. Baby, this is the best you have ever shown me, you deserve a promotion.” !!!!

The kids were more than delighted by their beautiful room (and had great discussions as to which shape light they would be sleeping under) and spent hours enjoying the activities, games and bean bags !!

From the gingerbread men, hot water bottles and bedtime stories to the amazing breakfast and wonderful staff – everything was fantastic.

Given that it was the start of our holiday, we were particularly grateful to have some time and space to wind down ( + we are huge Wimbledon fans) so it was lovely to have dinner delivered and then just enjoy a quiet evening next to the fire. this would be of great value for guests who have been sightseeing / on safari and on the go in having a few days of “ home away from home” with plenty of added luxury of course ! We did also fantasize of coming back without the children and bringing some friends to enjoy a few days there in summer, enjoying those views, the pool and a braai or two !

As before – Big Jo did not disappoint with his delicious food ( I still dream of his chocolate tart from 7 years ago !) and the breakfast was truly outstanding.
Thanks too to the two ladies who took such good care of us – Rendy was so sweet with the children and Chantelle was so helpful in showing me around the lodge and advising us on things to do in the area.

The lodge is truly amazing - 15 minutes from Plettenberg Bay with beautiful views over the valley. Food incredible, service superb and the owners are involved which gives this place a special "thing' - Heaters in the room when you get back at night, special gingerbread cookies & milk for the kids in the cookie jar. This is a special hidden gem - with pool and sauna. Most memorable was sitting on the deck chatting with a roaring fire in the centre with happy guests. We were also lucky to see a great band Watershed at the little rustic "Barnyard" theatre 200m down the road. We will be back !PS dont forget to watch the dolphins in the surf at Keurboomstrand, visit the cow farm for lunch nearby, have lunch at Enrico's overlooking the beach, dinner at Emilys on the hill will be unforgettable and the dolphin eco-encounter in Plettenberg Bay will delight the entire family - would recommend at least a 3 night stay!
